Description
The Falls Creek Neighborhood Association is comprised of more than 160 homes adjacent to Falls Creek (also known as Evergreen Creek) in San Jose, California. This area borders Evergreen Valley Community College and sits at the base of Montgomery Hill. The neighborhood association is generally bounded by San Felipe Road (West), Delta Road (North), Ruby Avenue (East) and the creek (South). However, we are open to all neighbors living in the surrounding area. Falls Creek Neighborhood Association does not require official membership or homeowners dues. Anyone is welcome to join and get involved. We formed this group to ensure community input in three primary areas:
(1) FALLS CREEK PARK - The neighborhood came together shortly after the community was built to promote getting this local park fully funded and built by the City of San Jose. After several years of effort, it was finally dedicated and opened in May 2008 and is now one of the busiest parks in Evergreen.
(2) FUTURE DEVELOPMENT IN EVERGREEN – Because of a pending proposal to build massive new retail and housing developments next door to our homes on the site of Evergreen Valley College, our community became involved in the Evergreen Visioning Project. After more than three years of meetings between the City of San Jose, the developers, and the community, these plans have been abandoned by the college (for now). However, one outcome of the process is that any future grocery store built on the college site must be significantly limited in size.
(3) COMMUNITY STRENGTH - Neighborhood issues like traffic, public safety, graffiti, libraries and crime and commonly addressed online and within the community. The neighborhood has been involved in organizing traffic calming meetings, neighborhood watches, graffiti clean-ups, as well as summer parties, National Night Out events, Halloween get-togethers, and community fundraisers.

Re: bobcat sighting? or a Manx?
I have seen a coyote running through our neighborhood and it ran past Falls Creek Park and back to the hills. This was last year.
