Hi, glad you liked the passage from Calvin. Would you be interested in a download of the Institutes that is very user friendly and is divided into books, chapters and sections that are never more than a page or two so as not to overwhelm anyone and which could be used as part of daily devotions and studied, prayed over, meditated on bit by bit till one was through the entire Institutes which I  believe is still the best introduction to the main themes of the Bible ever written and is loaded with Calvin's tremndous knowledge of the human heart and is a diamond mine of epistemic treasures. [goldmine would have been out of place here!]
If so, I will send you the address!

His awareness of the connections between knowledge of God and knowledge of self are crucial for epistemology that is serious about communication with and from God!
 

Thanks for the Owen !  His volume 6 on mortification of sin and temptation is incredible and all of it is on the net.  I know of no one who gets as deep into the heart as Owen!  Bunyan often a closs second!
