Hi, All!

I am Jonathan Gold and I have been lurking for a few days and I thought
it is time to introduce myself. I was an atheist Jew and a
professional actor in New York City in an ealier time. I became a Roman
Catholic in 1968, as I was studying Aquinas and Catholic Scholastic
Philosophy while majoring on Philosophy at Queens College of the CIty
University of New York. I went on for the Ph.D. in philosophy first at
the University of Pennsylvania and then at the State University of New
Yoprk at Strony Brook when my research changed to the point where I had
to study intensely the phenomenology of Husserl and Heidegger both of
whom had methodological ways of deconstructing sedimented, over-time,
meanings and they encouraged me to get back to the originary experiences
in the flow of life where our concepts originate from. My research was
on the phenomenological foundations of modern symbolic logic. I was
convinced that the logical operations and elementary patterns or logical
forms were elementary patterns that can be found in perception. I wrote
my Ph.D. dissertation to show this. In 1978, the Lord came to me in
power, convicted me of my sin and I was born again. I left the Catholic
Church, and became reformation oriented in my thinking over the Bible.
I went to seminary, received my Ph.D. in philosophy taught in college,
still do, and also was a pastor in two denominations. Over time, the
Lord continues to teach me many things and my views have changed. I now
hold to believer's baptism and congregational church government in a
house church-small group situation. I am now part of a
nondenominational small church fellowship. I am writing a logic book
for Christians and also working on some books in philosophy.
