Hi! My name is Cynthia, (pictured in red t-shirt, front left) and along with Stan Covell, (pictured next to me) we are the moderators of this group. This group, was created to meet new friends as well as find long lost old friends in the state of California for ex JW's. We all understand how alone you can feel when you leave the Watchtower Organization and it is very important that you have help and support. I was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses from 1972-1980 and also "pioneered" for a few of those years. I remember feeling very alone after leaving the Watchtower. I became an Evangelical Christian in 1982, however I do welcome others who may have a different world view, but the predominant viewpoint here is Evangelical Christian. Stan was a JW for over 22 years but is now a Christian. He was raised in the "truth" (as we used to call it) but left at the age of 18. He later returned to the WT and was baptized in 1989; however that same year was disassociated by formal letter from the WTBTS. Stan has been active in helping individuals become educated about the WT Society as well as the (LDS) Mormon Church since 1990.
All we ask is that you keep the topics clean and be respectful of one another. This is a place to talk and discuss your opinions and feelings without guilt or judgment. This is a safe and loving environment for all who join. There is also a live support group that meets in Downey, California (once a month) and another in northern California, at various times during the year.
