Hi Ed,You want to confess it to the Lord.In so doing the
relationship is restored.1st John 1:9 "If we confess our sin He is
faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all
unrighteousness."To confess our sin is to say the same thing about
our sin that God says in His Word about our sin.For example, here is
a prayer you can pray to get Gods attention.

" Heavenly Father, your Word sayes ` I will set no unclean thing
before mine eyes ` but I have set unclean things before mine eyes.I
have violated your Word. "

Then believe God at His Word that your broken fellowship is
restored.Because you realize of course that satan doesnt want you to
trust God at His Word. You havnt lost your salvation, youve merely
broken fellowship that needs restoring.
Trust in the Lord and be not moved.Tim Way

Hello Ed,
The process for freedom is usually slow in most cases, you have taken very
challenging steps, and have decided to believe God to help you through the
process, I will encourage you not to dismay, but keep on working on your issues,
for instance you might want to find out what kind of emotions are coming out
every time you seek porn sites, (loneliness, anger, frustration, hate,
abandonment, etc) what ever you either lacked in your past as a child, or what
ever traumatized you, try to find the link and once you find it, pray to God to
cleanse it.
Feel free to visit my website: www.changinglives.info
You are in my prayers,

I am not feeling down because I left my partner, but

Hi Ed,

I think you got very good answers from our fellow members. I believe
that one must invest time in healing, and mainly in developing true
fellowship with the Lord. Things in life are not "magic" and till now
I have not seen any "microwave" christian. The only pattern I can see
is a pattern of treatment, of time devoted by God to teach us. You
see, Moses had to wait 80 years for his ministry, or Joseph arround
30 to become the second in the kingdom. This is also true in our
lifes. Don't be disappointed when you don't see rapid results.

In order to be free indeed one must come to Jesus, earnestly, daily
and rely upon His merits. Some practical advice for freedom: break
the chain!!! if there's something or an identified pattern bringing
you to porn, break it. For instance, I used to walk in the cruising
area, mostly when I was back home early, so one way of breaking the
chain of events is just staying one hour later in office ... One very
useful tool in my life has been the Door of Hope internet course at
http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com Why don't you try it? It is not
going to replace a relationship with God but it will refresh/bring
some order and principles.

Blessings,

ARMAND

For as long as I can remember there has always been a giant hole
where my dad should have been. (That hole hurt more than anything
else)

Well, directly to the point. Monday in class, my teacher quizzed the
class with several questions. When I answered every one of them
correctly, he smiled at me almost like a proud father. Although the
smile only filled the hole for a little while, it was the most
pleasureable moment of my life. My first taste of what it would be
like to have genuine fatherly effection *if that makes an ounce of
sense?*

I think i'm going to study harder in that class than I have ever done
in my entire life.

Matt:
That's awesome, dude. We all do have moments like that and it's wonderful to
savor them.
If your eyes are open and you don't become a recluse, you will see that God will
always have some men in your life who provide moments of fatherly care. I'm
going to step out on a limb here and urge you to consider NOT claiming one man
to fill that hole over time. If you try to make a man get in your father-hole
and stay there - staying's the rub - he'll let you down. But if your heart is
open to the partial fillings that many men over time will give freely - you'll
be blessed by them without the disappointment of not wanting to let go. This is
really tough - and I don't want to shoot down your moment of joy. Have it and
rejoice in it. But when it's time to let go of that teacher know that God will
send other men through your life who will smile on you and you can trust Him.
Thanks for sharing this and know that I really admire you sticking with the Lord
and with the group these months. You've had a tough battle and you're a real man
of God!

I want to thank you all for the great advice and
support I received here. I want you to know that I am
now attending a support group here in S. FL (my new
home) and I have asked to become accountable,
something I have not done. I also removed every last
bit of filth pics from my computer and easy linked
websites, thanks Armand.
After reading Wil Merino's e-mail I have tried to
connect to the emotions that are leading me to this
and I was surprised to feel a wave of sadness over me.
I felt extrmely lonely and sad. Pictures of my father
and classmate bullies flashed in my mind. I was really
surprised. I prayed for God to fill that need and
forgave those bullies. The desire to masturbate and
view Internet sites was lifted.
I will continue to do this and to remove anything that
can become an obstacle between me and and my Lord.

Ed,
I Praise the Lord for what he is doing in your live right now, this is exactly
how we have connected our emotions to the ungodly, and this is how now we learn
to have a godly response to our pain, keep the good work by cleansing childhood
emotions. This will enable you to grow emotionally.

Hey everyone. My name is Kenny and I've been a member for a
few weeks, but have not written anything here yet. The past
couple of months I have been incredibly blessed by the Lord (not
to mention the life and the family and the comfort that He has
given me prior)!

A few months ago, I was addicted to gay porn (for years before).
Sending away for videos, internet, more internet, etc. But, God
wanted me to serve Him instead of sin. God knew that I would
reach a breaking point with this (which I did) and would call on
His name again.

I pray for the continued encouragement from God to everyone
who is dealing with this in their life! He is awesome and faithfful
and will not forget about you! God is so good!

I really believe that God turns the homosexual struggle that
some deal with around to His glory! And this is our purpose in
life - to give God the glory and not ourselves!

God bless all of you!

Kenny

Hi Kenny, and welcome. That was a good word brother. In one way or another all of
us are struggling daily. We all encounter temptations, trials, successes,
skinned knees, victories, and defeats. What ever happens in your christian
experience though, dont ever believe the lies of the deciever concerning your
adoption. For you have recieved the adoption not based on your track record, but
solely by the good mercies and faithfulness of God thru Christ Jesus. And yet HE
remains faithful to his promises to us. Regardless ! He is faithful even when we
are not faithful.Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you.

Dear brothers, Im thankful for support groups because most straight people dont
understand the extent of perversion the average gay man has exposed himself
to.However, let us not become spiritual perverts either.Afterall Gods plan for
decipleship and training is fulfilled in the local church. Our baptism doesnt
save us. Only the blood of Jesus Christ saves us.But when we are baptized, we
are baptizes into the local church. That is where God wants us, and where He
teaches us by the Holy Spirit, through the preeching of the Word of God, by the
man of God.God has not sanctioned support groups,T.V. or radio ministries, or
even exgaydiscussionboard, but He has sanctioned the local church. Lets not
forget the things that are important to God.

One of the reasons these type of groups exist is because the church has failed
in doing what they should be doing, and that is to help people out of the
addiction, the church has given the upper hand to the psicoloists and
psichiatrists. I counsel people coming from a lot of churches where they have
not found much support but instead a lot of conmdenation and hate. But in any
way I'm against the church, I myself believe in going to church, and so I do. I
just want to bring things in perspective about this problem that the church is
very ignorant aobut and don't know what to do with people who struggle with this
problem.....All they say is repent and every thing will be ok.

Thankyou brother, for your letter of responce. As I read it I said amen once or
twice. I can totally relate to you and many others who have been misused by
pastors and stiff-necked pew warmers. 17 years ago I shared with a brother in
the church I met with of my struggles and he thought it was his place in life to
inform half the church. I was so embarassed I contemplated ending my life. But
the Lord used even that to bring about change and maturity.I also needed to
forgive him, which I did.All of the experiences that the Lord allows us to
encounter HE lets in for bringing about maturity in our lives.God considers
these hard trials that He allows to be more valuable than gold. Consider 1 Peter
1 :6-7,
" Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season,if need be, ye are in
heaviness through manifold temptations: that the trial of your faith ,being much
more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might
be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ."
Keep walking in forgiviness . Love in christ Tim Way

Just by looking at the website, it seems to be GAY AFFIRMING, and
all-inclusive as far as "any" religion. I seriously doubt you will
find a Christ-centered biblical foundation for truly God-centered
masculinity at any of their functions. You should try truly
Christ-centered organizations such as promise keepers
(http://www.promisekeepers.org) or similar christian men's
organizations.

Wil,

Amen! Wherever 2 or more are gathered, there He is int he midst!! In
a sense, we *are* a form of a church -- a body of believers who come
together to support one another through prayer and faith. A church is
not a building (since my current church meets in a school, I have
practical experience in this!!) but a body of believers!!

That said, I also strongly urge all to become involved in a local
church. Also I strongly urge confiding your struggles with a trusted
member (preferably a leader such as a pastor or other ministry leader)
for prayer and support.

Wil,

You will find though that some Ex-gays beleive that there are no root issues to
SSA,but that it born out of the air,and we just walk into it.... I myself
beleive that the SSA is a pyschological aberiation, neither a choice, nor
genetic.... I just think that if people that want to come out of this just start
rethinking the way they think, and start asking them selves why do i behave the
way i do with couseling, and support from healthy hetorsexaul people the SSA will
fall to the waist side, and of course God should be the center of it all.... The
majority of the Ex-gay commuinty have this Gehtto mentality way of thinking.....
I would encourage one to get involved in church, and not focus on what people
think, and not even trying to have deep dialague with people you get close to
about this issue, because if you do it will back fire, unless these people are
truely born again Christians.... Getting away from the Ex-Gay community does not
mean i do not agree... I just think that i will be healthier, and not get so
caught up in the politics of it all... I am actually a happier person now that i
have no ties to it all.... Yes i do respond to the Board on some issues, but i am
about to even stop that, because it just the same oh same oh song... We just all
need to get up and walk and stop have pity partys.....

Dear Patrick:
I've been considering that for a couple years. Sooner or later I'm going to go
on one. It's not Bible based, so you will have to separate the wheat from the
chaff in what they say, but I do think that they have a good handle on what some
refer to as the "Father wound," and seem to seem to use the concept of men
standing together to help one another forgive, receive and move forward with a
community-serving mission. I would not call Promise Keepers an equivalent
because I don't think PK focuses as much on the the woundedness that we feel so
acutely with ssa nor on the combined big-brother/peer dynamics to address it.
Others would disagree with me vehemently on this subject, so take what I say
with a grain of salt.

Hey Scott, I hear your reasoning but ask you to consider Cain the son of Adam
and Eve. He was shown the only way to be excepted by God in those days.He
brought an unexceptable sacrifice to give in exchange for his sins( Veggies and
fruit ).God required a bloody sacrifice, seperating the fat from the muscle, put
on the alter and burned. That was Gods prescribed way. His brother Abel gave an
exceptable sacrifice and in his jealousy Cain rose up and killed his brother.God
came and met Cain in the field and said "the blood of thy brother cries to me
from the ground" and HE asked Cain about the right worship saying "If thou do
what is right, wont thou be accepted, and if thou do not what is right, sin
lieth at the door ?"
He said all this to illistrate that there is a "God Prescrbed Way" that is
acceptable. And if a person dosnt come that way, thier doomed for
distruction.Cain and all of his progeny died in thier sins, and they are in
torment today weeping and wailing and gnashing thier teeth. If you could
interview them right now they would gladly repent, but its too late for them
now.Tim Way

Back in 1997 here in Portland we recieved some 60 or so inches of
rain early in the year. The Wilamette river near my home overflowed
and many houses were under water. The news media showed rescue boats
helping people off thier roofs and from the tops of trees. Some
people didnt believe they needed rescueing though. They just waited
for the waters to reseed. The Lord brought that to my mind one day
when witinessing to a moral religionist. He was like those people on
top of the roof refusing the rescue boats. But a person trusting
Christ wholly for salvation is like the others who jumped from the
roof into the water and throwing thier whole weight into the boat
leaving any reliance on themselves.
Like the hymn sayes " What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
leaning on the everlasting arms...Safe and secure from all
alarms;Leaning on the everlasting arms.
