Hello Ken ,
I have some sidecars and frames  from the early days when people transportation by motorcycle and sidecar was preferred  to  the  use of motor cars.    But type and make of the sidecars  still are riddles to me, although I "download"  information from wherever I find it on the net, and try to compile some knowledge.... .

I think yours  might be one type of Rogers, which I  have found , made side cars to offer on  many makes of motorcycles and even many  types of suspensions and bodies  for each year too. I have  a frame almost similar to yours  with  two long  one-piece springs - c-spring in the rear and quarter eliptic up front, I guess that one is very early - 15-17 or so.  I have one which should have two  half eliptic atop of each other across up front, like Goulding did,  I have found this to be around  '22,  so I guess yours is something in between.  Fender profile is  sometimes a  giveaway...

Maybe the Indian PowerPlus sidecar with its complex  cage fram was  too expensive so  buyers got  the simpler Rogers sidecars instead?'

Your  combination  looks very good. Scary for a passenger if you take it to the continent though  ;o)

I found most of  my "sidecar wrecks"  mixed up at  one farm where old sidecars had been collected before the war, and they made the boots up to use behind horses for trot racing on the ice of a lake during winter.  - One reason all of the boots I found had got  no  floors... - Worth taking care of a anyway ....

with kind regards
Per Erik

Hello Per Eric ,
Thanks for this , sounds as if you have a barn full of sidecars
I think it something that motorcyclists either love or hate !! and I
love em , had sidecars for over 45 years , I am fortunate with this
one as the body is in very goodcondition it is fully galvanised and
with just a little surface rust on the inside floor were it would have
had wear . fortunately not been used as a sledge .
I have ridden sidecars abroad and yes good fun for the passenger
I am not sure that mine may be a Rogers , all the pictures of
Rogers that I have seen show two springs at the front  I have never
seen any sidecar other than mine with a single spring !
Thanks for answering anyway  , we all learn from each other and is
nice to know what other enthusiasts think and know good to share !!
Best wishes , Ken

Hello members,
I have a Series 20 X, I want to have two sets of tires, one set white (Which I
have, thanks to the venerable Gene Harper, also a member of this group) and one
black, for actual road use. I need to get one additional good rear hub. Anybody
have one they might like to sell?
Thanks,
Monty

Hi Paul,
While your digging, if you should come up with a front hub and brake from a 28 or later Super X or Henderson I would love the opportunity to purchase as I would like to put a brake on my '20, though I know it wouldn't be correct, stopping is always a good thing. This was Steve Huntzingers thoughts as well.
I liked the pic of Richard Morri's Ex. I looked it up after you posted and read the bad news from several years ago. Has he had any luck in finding any of the bikes?

Hi Paul,
I may have a handlebar clutch linkage piece for an earlier X, but I won't have my parts back for at least 6 months or so. I had sent all my parts to Steve Huntzinger as he is finishing the build for me after I did the rolling chassis. I'm a carpenter and I want to ride my X, and I want it to be safe on it. Steve offered me a great price as well. Phil Schack is doing my engine right now, new rods, pins, so on.
Thanks for the pics. Do you think the hub could be made into good usable condition? I'm very interested and will let you know by tomorrow.

Mon, Er, ah, anything is fixable. It will take some wizardry to get it apart and redo, but it's a nugget to me. Time will tell. Thanks and good luck, Paul PS Congrats on your Huntzinger bike. I'd love to see that. What year? I just put my 1916 motor together with used pistons and rings. I think it'll run but be about like a moped unless I get more compression. Love that original stuff. Hahahaha.
My bottom end is "as found" too. I just flushed it out for now. Excelsior!

Hi Paul, I got to looking at those pics, it looks like the corrosion has gone to far. If worse case scenario I will unlace the one I have and keep my white tires and clinchers and relace it when I find another hub. The one I do have is beautiful.
So, thanks for digging but no, I think I will pass on this one.

Mont, I think maybe this hub is different anyway?? Do you recognize it as same? I think I'll take it over to Richard Morris' and look at it next to his Series 20 V twin. I got it from Norway for a Detroit Henderson racer project of mine. I figure everything is rebuildable, and original is all ways better than reproduction, but it's a bit daunting. I like the challenge of any rebuild. Would love to see pictures of your bike. My 1915 chassis is in storage for now, but I'll check that out too. Sometimes I think old/crusty is the new vogue. Hahaha. Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul,
While your digging, if you should come up with a front hub and brake from a 28 or later Super X or Henderson I would love the opportunity to purchase as I would like to put a brake on my '20, though I know it wouldn't be correct, stopping is always a good thing. This was Steve Huntzingers thoughts as well.
I liked the pic of Richard Morri's Ex. I looked it up after you posted and read the bad news from several years ago. Has he had any luck in finding any of the bikes?

Hi Paul,
Yes it looks like the correct hub but is too corroded for me. I do like patina but its a bit too much, ha! to each his own. I will continue asking the people in the club and elsewhere, maybe I will find one at Wasseon.
The only pics of my bike are on the site. just a rolling chassis with no motor installed yet, but I think she is beautiful!.
Peace,
Monty

1/ has anybody done this before and if so was there a batch made if which there
are still some left
2/ If I got some made is anyone else interested ( price depending if course)
Cheers

Hello Anthony.

Mike Giddens in California made up a half dozen sets of those oil pump gears a
few years ago. I bought one set, I can see if he has any left, but I think that
he sold them all. Price was around $150-200 if I recall.

Hi Monty,
I think I have a couple spare. Pete has first pick as he asked about one a
while back. If you dont have any luck getting one in the USA then let me know.

Thanks Ben,
I will definitely need one if you have one, I am also now going to start looking for a front hub as well. I was going to put a front brake on my bike but was recently told that the rear will be just fine as long as I put the inner brake back in, I had pulled it out.
Look forward to hearing from you!
