Welcome to Ethiopian Attachment. This group was started for families who have adopted or are in the process of adopting a child from Ethiopia and would like to share information and experiences about attachment related issues. We are here to learn from and encourage one another, so please be respectful to all members. Rude or negative remarks made to or about a fellow member will not be tolerated. We are here to support each other's parenting, not to judge it. We ask that you keep in mind that every child is different. What works for one may not work for another. Feel free to share what has worked for you or make gentle suggestions, but please refrain from criticism or giving unwanted advice about what someone *should* do. Sometimes we just need a place to vent. Because we often will be sharing personal stories about our children and families, what happens here, stays here. By joining this group we agree to keep all members and messages confidential. We are not allowed to cross post or share anything that is said here with anyone off this group's list. Finally, we are not professional counselors or therapists, we are concerned parents who love our children. The thoughts and information shared here are in no way a substitute for professional help.So read, learn, share and encourage.
