Happy New Year!  2012 is off to a good start and it is time to start finalizing that wonderful submission you have for the Spring issue of PRIMA.  The deadline is May 1, for publication in late May.

PRIMA is a semi-annual publication sponsored by Excellence Through Classics (ETC), a standing organization of the American Classical League (ACL). 

PRIMA's mission is to promote the teaching of Classics through insightful articles and exemplary lessons that elementary, middle and high school teachers may adapt for use in their classroom programs.

PRIMA is intended for a world-wide audience that includes those with a strong enthusiasm for the classical world. You can view past issues of PRIMA online to get a jist of what we promote/print.  Our website is:  http://www.etclassics.org.

Don’t have a clue what you could submit?  Perhaps the following list of suggestions will help you:

·      Additions to the bag of tricks that provide variety to your presentations, practice, and evaluations

·      A successful project your students have completed this year

·      Community service projects

·      Alternative evaluations, rubrics that provide room for individual interpretation, tailored to individual learners

·      Collaboration with other teachers and other subject-areas

·      Linking culture and language

·      Applying the standards, especially Connections, Comparisons, and Communities

·      Personal study experiences

Whatever you decide upon, please include pictures, graphs, screen shots, etc.  Visuals always make the reading more meaningful, and often reduce the need for lots of text.
