I teach an ESL class to a group of Spanish speaking adults. Most of
them are computer illiterate and we are planning to teach computer
skills. Unfortunately, most of our textbooks have no computer words in
Spanish. Does anyone know where I could find a guide for teaching
computer skills in Spanish?

Hola! I am glad you wrote me back. I read you are interested in learning
Spanish, so you are lucky to practice it with a native speaker.

Here, in Venezuela, everything is very nice, people is very cool. What about
your country? How's your culture?

I learned English in the United States. I went there five years ago. I lived in
Tampa, Florida, and later in Saint Paul, Minnesota. But I didn't like the latter
because the weather was very bad, many storms and tornados.

As for me, I am 24. I study Foreign Trade in the university, so it is very
important for me to learn a new language, to know about other cultures. What
about you?

Greetings!
I am a native speaker of English, born an raised in Reno, Nevada,
United States of America.

Humans are mammals. Mammals learn best by playing.

I'm working on creating the best way that I can to learn/ teach a
language, a way of playing that motivates the players to keep on
learning and bettering their use of the language they are trying to
learn.

Basically, imagine that you are in the town, city, or area where you
live, outside, walking somewhere at night. Pretend to see that there
is a green flash of light above you as you walk, and a strange
sensation fills you - - - it is as if there are two of you. One of
you shrugs off the sensation, continues walking and goes on with the
rest of your normal life. Imagine that your ability to perceive him/
her and the events of her/ his life fades away. The whole world fades
away.

You and several other people are standing on a huge field of grass.
(Describe yourself as best you can, in the clothes you would have
been wearing.). Looking around, the world seems a little strange, but
before you can focus in on that and discover how it is strange, a
being appears hovering in the air in front of all of you.

"Greetings!" He says. He seems to be a man from about the waist up,
somewhat overweight, and he would have been seen as tall if he had
any legs - - - but from the waist downward there is nothing but
swirls of lavender and magenta fog. He's wearing a blue-violet,
sleeveless " `T'-shirt".
"I am the Purple Helper.
"Anytime you don't understand something, or need some kind of
informational assistance, just say: `Help!' or `I summon the Purple
Helper!' and I, or a copy of me, shall appear.
"This world is similar to the world you originated on, though it is
much larger. It contains every material you might need to create an
excellent life here. Unlike your world, this world is managed by an
artificially intelligent super-computer, called DEVA. DEVA controls
the weather, gravity, and many, many other things. So many things
that using it might seem like magic! DEVA awaits your spoken commands
at all times, but it only recognizes properly parsed English. When
you wish to give DEVA a command, you must start your sentence by
addressing DEVA properly, saying: `DEVA, let such and such happen!' I
cannot give DEVA any commands, so it ignores my voice.
"I hope you enjoy your stay!" He says, and fades away.

(Native speakers of English who read this, write me a few pages about
yourself if you want to be assigned `helper' status (for so long as
the colors last, laughing-out-loud!), so I can tell how excellent (or
not) your command of English is.
