Location of Vacancy: Jobs for Georgia Graduates - Cave Spring, GA
Duties & Responsibilities:
Located at the Georgia School for the Deaf, and under general
supervision, coordinates and implements a school-to-work transition
program, requiring both local and statewide travel. Identifies
potential "at risk" participants who meet established criteria for
participation. Provides job development and placement assistance;
provides extensive follow-up services; maintains documentation and
monitors program effectiveness. Promotes program within the schools
and the community; conducts oral/written presentations. Maintains
knowledge of current trends and developments. Operates in compliance
with national program guidelines; state policies and procedures; and
federal, state and local rules and regulations..
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited four year
college or university AND experience instructing and/or counseling
adolescents. The position requires proficiency in communicating with
deaf populations using American Sign Language (ASL). Applicants may
be tested on their proficiency in ASL.(Interim)
Position requires oral and written communication skills and good
interpersonal skills to instruct a diverse student population, and to
communicate with their parents, school administrators, teachers, and
job recruiters.
NOTE: Only those who indicate that they are proficient in American
