Greetings!

To my understanding, Carmara is merely a title given to the Heptarchic
King who stands as the head of the Heptarchia. In the journals,
Prince Bagenol (Prince of Venus/Friday) takes the name Hagonel and
claims to be the minister to Carmara. It is likely, then, that
"Carmara" in Dee's journals is actually Baligon, the King of
Venus/Friday. I believe this rulership is intended to be successive-
so we would meet an entirely different "Carmara" today.

We also learn from Dee's journals that Annael is the Principle Angel
of the Universe- who rules in succession with the other six Archangels
(Cassiel, Sachiel, Camael, etc.)- similar to what we see in the
Arbatel or Trthemeus' "Secunda Secundus." (In the Arbatel, each Angel
rules for 490 years- or 7x70. In "Secunda Secundus" I believe a
different or vague number is given.)

This also explains why Dee found the Heptarchic King of Venus/Friday,
Baligon, with the title of "Carmara" during his lifetime.

Today, the Archangel of either Sol or Mercury (and the King and Prince
He governs) should be in control- depending on whether Dee intended
the Chaldean ordering of Planets, or the "Heptarchic" ordering.

Later in the journals, Dee is told to use the Ensign of Creation that
represents the "principle governer of this world"- and I believe this
means one of the Seven Archangels as described above. So Dee would
have always used the Ensign of Venus/Friday (Annael) in his Heptarchic
magick. (We should use that of Michael or Raphael, depending...)

In yet another place in the journals, Dee was told exactly what kind
of hierarchy he was working with. First and foremost is God, followed
by the Seven Archangels. Those Seven Archangels, then, are in direct
control of the Angels of the Zodiac. The Zodiacal Angels (as
evidenced in the Keys) are charged with running things here on Earth.

So the Enochian Hierarchy is thus:

-God (Iad, Iad Balt, Iad Baltoh)

-The 7 Archangels and their Heptarchia

-The Angels of the 12 Signs of the Zodiac, and all of their Angelic
servants in the Aethyrs, Parts of the Earth and Great Table of the Earth.

Can you see the very specific Astrological symbolism here?
