I received the following response to my sending out the Emanations on 9/11:
"Your philosophy is unflawed………………….but logic and the facts reveal it is a Holy
War we face………….and your philosophy will not change Sharia Law or that the
Muslim Extremists will not ebb its tide, but will continue to ATTACK !"
I understand that reaction. And there is no question that Muslim extremists will
continue their violence. But the question is about the rest of the Muslim
community. And there is great question about our culpability in provoking and
creating the Muslim extremists.
It is clear that most Muslims are not extremists. The basis of the Muslim
religion is love of Allah. Jihad is an internal cleansing, not a killing spree.
Muhammed taught that we should practice love. Mainstream Muslim teachers do not
advocate anything resembling the crazed violence we see against not only the
United States, but against many other countries and against their own people
that they disagree with.
The conflict is based on a dialogue, or the lack thereof, between our extremists
and their extremists. We need to practice what we literally preach: Love thy
enemy.
We need to learn from those who teach love and understanding, not those who
preach military action.
Namaste,
John
