Hi everybody,
     I just kind of skimmed over everthing and I can tell that it is
going to take time to get the hang of it.  But I really can tell that
I like a lot of things I have already seen.  Especially all the
elongated memebers email addresses just at hand.  Still looking
around.  Hoping to find trade and want lists.

Oh no! I'm not going anywhere!

I still collect elongates even though I really don't trade as much as I used
to.

I am still the list moderator and webmaster for the TEC.

It's just that we need the server space for our web design company...and
with the fear of attached email viruses that can take our servers down, we
thought this would be the best option for us all.

A few months ago, I joined a group on eGroups and I realized that the offer
so many more options than our current listserv. Most importantly...it's free
of charge!

I personally love the chat, file and database areas on eGroups. It will
greatly improve our little on-line community.

There are so many new things to discover!
Once the people that I've invited get logged on, we'll see what they're
opinions are about it. Then I'll make an announcement to the entire group.
There might be a way to invite the rest of them. I'll have to look into
that.

I think this would be an excellent move for us to make as a mailing lisst
and here ar the reasons why:

1) Easier maintenance
2) More accesible archives of correspondence
3) A calendar accessible to all subscribers that could be used to posts
events
4) A central, public file area where we, as a group, could keep, see, and
maintain online location lists, a membership directory, trade lists and so
much more

I'm with another group on eGroups, and the resources it offers us as a
community are just terrific. I'd wholeheartedly support a move if the
group decides to go for it!

(I was just thinking about this idea earlier today and was thinking about
proposing it. Great minds, eh? <g>)
