it was with delight and a bit of awe thar a friend of mine had some old poem books of Ella in a barn and gave me two of them.....one is a black book of Poems...

I think we are guilty of ascribing to Ella a transcendence that she did not claim. She wrote from the heart. but did not assume that what she wrote would touch...
