A group formed to gather information on and struggle to improve the pay and conditions of foreign language teachers (including teachers of EFL/ESL/ESOL) as well as pensions, sick pay, holiday pay, contracts, cost of travel to take up post and any other relevant issues that may arise from time to time - and to liaise with local teachers' unions.
EFLTU exists as a forum not only for discussion but for the coordinating and planning of appropriate action for teachers of all foreign languages, including English as a Foreign or Second Language, English for Speakers of Other Languages. Membership is open to all foreign language teachers(not just native speakers of the language taught)regardless of gender, nationality or creed.
