Re: [edinburghcamra] Boss of Marston's insults CAMRA members

I'm with you on this one Dave.

I don't want CAMRA to turn into a bunch of PC lefties fuelling their own agenda, but some of its members hardly do theirselves, or the organisaion, any favours.

Marstons have a good portfolio and have, unlike others, kept open their acquisitions.

I always subscribe a good beer is one that looks good and tastes good, allowing for the diferring pallets of individuals. Variety and choice always a bonus.

Look inwards and then outwards to see a bigger picture.

Nigel

Well, this is certainly one way to alienate your customers - insult them...

Perhaps, though, I think people may be over-reacting a little and, hard though it is to admit, I think there a grain of truth in at least some of what he says.

These comments have certainly gained a lot of attention and, given Marston's support for real ale, maybe that is not such a bad thing either.

There is certainly still a perception about the typical CAMRA member and there is a danger that we take ourselves too seriously sometimes - after all, there's more to life than real ale...isn't there?

Dave.
