EDINBURGH BUDDHISTS INTERSANGHA ACTIVITIES

1. Annual Buddha day (Wesak) celebration, an event set up by Jody Higgs, takes place each May at the Salisbury centre, 2, Salisbury Road, Edinburgh. Buddhists from all traditions attend, with each year a different sangha hosting. After practice there is shared food.

For 2009 Edinburgh Soto Zen group is organising the gathering for Friday 29 May, 6:30-9:30 pm.

2. This forum supports the work of EIFA (Edinburgh Inter-faith Association). The current EIFA representative of the Buddhist community is Suzanne Dance - email suzannedance@hotmail.co.uk

3. Annual Edinburgh intersangha retreats are held which practising Buddhists are welcome to attend (not suitable for beginners). They are usually held at Wiston Lodge each April. They create an opportunity for increasing dialogue, understanding and friendship between Buddhists within different traditions living locally.
