Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950)

This group is dedicated to the study and appreciation of one of the great masters of literary adventure, Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950). Creator of numerous famous characters, such as Tarzan, Carson Napier, and John Carter of Mars, and exciting worlds, such as Venus, Barsoom, and Pellucidar, Burroughs is widely recognized as one of the fathers of the Pulp Era and modern heroic fiction. His work has been in print constantly, translated throughout the world, and adapted into every medium of entertainment known, from movies to comics to toys. In-depth studies of any aspect of Edgar Rice Burroughs' life, his writings, his characters and worlds, his philosophy, or his impact and legacy are welcome.
