Description

Eddie Hatcher is a Native American activist in Robeson County, N.C. He is currently standing trial for 1st degree murder in a drive-by shooting that occurred on May 31, 1999. The evidence against Eddie is shaky at best, and has been described by a former prosecutor as "a pile of nonsense cobbled together in a desperate attempt to try to show that Eddie Hatcher committed this crime."

District Attorney Johnson Britt is seeking the death penalty against Eddie, based on his conviction for the 1988 takeover of the Robesonian newspaper offices. For more information on the case, see http://www.eddiehatcher.org
