Hello,
Have you ever thought of putting an environmental twist into your art
program or a creative arts twist to your one of your science units?
Well here is your chance to get outside and create - or bring the
outside in!!
When is a tree, a branch, a mound of dirt or a leaf more than meets the
eye? When it is uses these natural items to create Earth art or
Ephemeral art. The artist utilizes natural materials and plants to
create both large- and small- scale installations in diverse indoor and
outdoor sites. Landscape and art become inextricably linked, revealing
new relationships with nature, landscape and the environment.
Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) announces a special interactive school
program, Earth Art, for students and adults. You will have an
opportunity to interact with the site manager of the exhibit, Nancy
Prochuk, about the one-of-a-kind environmental and ephemeral
installations that are being created in our gardens and natural areas.
Date and Time: Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. EDT
See the attached ad for more details.
I realize that this is very last minute, but the artists are only just
arriving and starting on their pieces.
If you and your students are interested in learning more about Earth
Art, complete the attached registration form. Spaces are limited since
I can only handle 3 connections at one time.
If you are interested, but can't fit it in at such short notice we can
work something out for the summer if that is more suitable especially if
you offer IVC at libraries or your summer programs. We will try to
offer this again in September, date and time to be announced.
Please forward this to teachers or other educators that you think might
be interested.
Thanks,
Karin
