Eclectic Playa Tribe is a camp where mostly Seattle-based individuals have gathered to form a community, a family, a home -- for eight days in the Black Rock Desert each year during the Burning Man festival.

Several of our members live in an apartment building on Capitol Hill, affectionately dubbed "The Compound."

We are not a theme camp. EPT is home base, where you can trust every member to be good to you and your things and where everyone usually pitches in; whether it be cooking, cleaning, building, hauling, providing, healing, creating, etc. It is a place where we have in the past shared kitchens, shade structures, a temple of purification (shower) and camping space. It is a place where we gathered as a group once a day to share supper and stories together after a day of play, and before we went out into the night to gather more experiences. In 2006, we camped in a theme village, Gigsville of San Francisco, for the first time. Went pretty well!
