This is a model plane made by hand entirely out of metal, mostly aluminium!!!!

The website is worth a read.

P51 Mustang

  Corsair

Using a tweezers, the controls can be moved. All cables and linkages are in place to work the wing control surfaces as well. Young Park has since carved a pilot's face and hands from solid aluminum and built an articulated pilot to sit in the cockpit. (Photo: George F. Lee, Honolulu Star-Bulletin)
Here's  pic of fingers and tweezers to give scale......... Sooooo small!!!
Remember this as you look at the pics........... All the controls work as designed, by cables, chains, linkages and levers.

All these controls WORK!!!!!........ And that means they work the parts of the aircraft via rods and chains as in the original aircraft!!!!
Every single part hand made and fitted.
It blows you away, doesn't it???

Don't forget the tiny scale......... go up again and look at the pic of the fingers and tweezers!

Machine guns and bullets.........
Detail of three .50 Cal. machine guns and ammo cans. Ammo cans are loaded outside the aircraft and then simply set into place in the wing. Their doors become the top surface of the wing. This allowed for rapid reloading by the ground crew.

Mr. Park generously donated the first (cutaway) Corsair model to the Joe Martin Foundation. It can be seen in person in its display at the Foundation's museum in the Sherline building in Vista, California. A collection of photos showing how the model was built and all the historical data on the Corsair Mr. Park collected to build it has also been donated and is available for viewing. In 2005, Mr. Park also donated the second corsair and it is also now on display in the Foundation's museum.

Showing the extent of his carving skills, Mr. Park sculpted a pilot's head and hands out of solid aluminum. The articulated figure is dressed in a custom made uniform and can be placed in any position to give a good sense of scale to the model.

Inside the left wing you can see the .50 cal ammunition threaded into the three wing guns. Each round is machined in 3 parts—brass cartridge with copper bullet and primer and is held together with a small copper feed jacket.

engine exhaust ports....... pic taken during assembly.

Control wires are being threaded around their pulleys underneath the cockpit during construction. (Y. Park photo)

The radiator air intake sits under the fuselage ready for installation. Much of the detail of some of the parts is hidden once it is assembled. (Y. Park photo)

The wing being made.............. LOOKIT how SMALL it is

Each panel is hand formed over a wooden shape. The metal is annealed to the proper softness and then pounded and bent into shape. The plane is made up of many individual panels, and the fits between panels are just about perfect. (Y. Park photo)

Here we see the panel above in it's final position. Looks easy now, doesn't it? (Y. Park photo)

The form for the air intake and the final part. As is often the case in machining and model making, fixtures, moulds, formers and jigs to make the final parts can take a long time to make and are never seen by the public viewing the finished model. (Y. Park photo)

Look carefully at the B-17 and note how shot up it is - one engine dead,
tail, horizontal stabilizer and nose shot up.. It was ready to fall out of
the sky. (This is a painting done by an artist from the description of both
pilots many years later.) Then realize that there is a German ME-109 fighter
flying next to it. Now read the story below. I think you'll be
surprised.....

Charlie Brown was a B-17 Flying Fortress pilot with the 379th Bomber Group
at Kimbolton , England .  His B-17 was called 'Ye Old Pub' and was in a
terrible state, having been hit by flak and fighters.  The compass was
damaged and they were flying deeper over enemy territory instead of heading
home to Kimbolton.

After flying the B-17 over an enemy airfield, a German pilot named Franz
Steigler was ordered to take off and shoot down the B-17.  When he got near
the B-17, he could not believe his eyes.  In his words, he 'had never seen a
plane in such a bad state'.  The tail and rear section was severely damaged,
and the tail gunner wounded.  The top gunner was all over the top of the
fuselage.  The nose was smashed and there were holes everywhere.

Despite having ammunition, Franz flew to the side of the B-17 and looked at
Charlie Brown, the pilot. Brown was scared and struggling to control his
damaged and blood-stained plane.

BF-109 pilot Franz Stigler                                          B-17 pilot Charlie Brown.

Aware that they had no idea where they were going, Franz waved at Charlie to turn 180 degrees.  Franz escorted and guided the stricken plane to, and slightly over, the North Sea towards England .  He then saluted Charlie Brown and turned away, back to Europe .  When Franz landed he told the CO that the plane had been shot down over the sea, and never told the truth to anybody.  Charlie Brown and the remains of his crew told all at their briefing, but were ordered never to talk about it.

More than 40 years later, Charlie Brown wanted to find the Luftwaffe pilot who saved the crew.  After years of research, Franz was found. He had never talked about the incident, not even at post-war reunions.

They met in the  USA   at a 379th Bomber Group reunion, together with 25 people who are alive now - all because Franz never fired his guns that day.

(L-R) German Ace Franz Stigler, artist Ernie Boyett, and B-17 pilot Charlie Brown.

When asked why he didn¹t shoot them down, Stigler later said, ³I didn¹t have
the heart to finish those brave men.  I flew beside them for a long time..
They were trying desperately to get home and I was going to let them do
that.  I could not have shot at them.  It would have been the same as
shooting at a man in a parachute.²

Both men died in 2008.

This is a true story, though the internet (and email) version is likely somewhat embellished. Check out what Snopes has to say at  http://www.snopes.com/military/charliebrown.asp

One red light not to run

This puts a whole new meaning to the saying, "Never run a red light!"   Did you know Gibraltar's Airport runway and vehicular traffic crossings intersect at the same level?

VERY old news - it is a photo-shopped fraud put out by a european marketing company.   Fot those unabe to find or open the attachment it is the aerobatic plane losing a wing and landing safely.  FYI, there was a similar true event with and RC airplane that was beautifully video documented - no doubt about the RC incident!

The first hint of fraud on the photo-shopped version was the spin into the remaining wing. Ain't going to happen! Violates the laws of aero and physics.

Up until just a few years ago airplanes physically could not do what you will see this one do (a 12G range!).

It is still hard to believe when you see this in person..

This is all real and there is no trick photography.

Not only is theairplane unbelievable but the pilot is also taking g-forces between about +8 and -4. That hurts.

**Buckle up, you are in for some turbulence!**

The airplane is an Edge 540 manufactured in Guthrie , Oklahoma . The engine is 540 cu. Inches, 10.5:1 compression ratio, has a Cold Air induction System and is fuel injected. Engine preparation done by Barrett Precision Engines.

It makes 320 BHP @ 2850 RPM and weighs 385 Lbs.

The airplane can fly inverted until it runs out of gas.

Yes. Dopler effect will not see anything unless it is closing or opening from the dish. In a 3D environment, it is possible to travel in a direction and not open or close to the dish. Most missiles are radar guided. So the missile can loose lock for a split second and not recover in time.

Over simplified answer, but close enough.

Russian Jet SU-30MK

READ THE DESCRIPTION BELOW BEFORE VIEWING!

Russia now has #1 fighter plane in the world..... The SU-30- Vectored
Thrust with Canards. As you watch this airplane, look at the canards moving
along side of, and just below the canopy rail. The "canards" are the Small
wings forward of the main wings. The smoke and contrails provide a sense of
the actual flight path, sometimes in reverse direction. This video is of an
in-flight demonstration flown by the Russian's-30MK fighter aircraft. You
will not believe what you are About to see.
The fighter can stall from high speed, stopping forward motion in seconds.
(full stall). Then it demonstrates an ability to descend tail first without
causing a compressor stall. It can also recover from a flat spin in less
than a minute.
These maneuver capabilities don't exist in any other aircraft in the world
today... Take a look at the video with the sound up. This aircraft is of
concern to U.S. and NATO planners. We don't know which nations Will soon be
flying the SU-30MK, hopefully China isn't one of them.....
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Note: Friends worked with advanced
aircraft flight control systems and concepts for many years as an extension
of stability control and means of control. Canards and vectored thrust were
among many concepts examined to extend our fighter aircraft performance.
Neither our current or next generation aircraft now poised for funding
&production can in any way match the performance of this Russian aircraft
NOW FLYING in any near combat situation.
Somehow the bankrupt Russian aircraft industry has out produced our complex
politically tainted aerospace industry with this technology marvel.

Scratch any ideas of close in air-to-air combat with this aircraft in the
future.

I worked on these fighter Doppler radars for years.  They can't stand ground clutter and are virtually blind.  Normal flight, sooner or later in a turn will have a doppler above the ground clutter Doppler which is the closing velocity of the radar.  So the radar looks for opening or closing doppler and then sees the target again based on the current track.  A target standing still would not be seen but ...... he is not a threat staying where he is.  Only when the enemy reaches close enough to the target is he a threat, possibly with his missiles at greater distance.  But lets face it.  How long do you think he can hover?

Another scenario is to fly a DME circle, thus staying blind.  Now we loose track of him and he could appear on the other side of the circle so detection would have to start all over again.  WE can do that with our VW powered planes.

However,  Ground radars can data link tracking data to the interceptor so all this speculation is not really a problem.

The bad thing about this SU is in a dog fight.  He could end up on your BUTT might fast.  Now what do you do.  [you do like on an airline and put your head between your knees and pray]

The way to win the war is with small tube/wood and fabric airplanes.  They are too small to be seen.  Put a stealth missal on it and away we go. Radars need a certain amount of reflective area.  This is why the F17 worked so well with the facets as the reflections were not 180 degrees from the target.

Yes. Dopler effect will not see anything unless it is closing or opening from the dish. In a 3D environment, it is possible to travel in a direction and not open or close to the dish. Most missiles are radar guided. So the missile can loose lock for a split second and not recover in time.

Over simplified answer, but close enough.

Scratch any ideas of close in air-to-air combat with this aircraft in the
    future.

This may be a long shot but I figured I would ask.  I’m looking for any old anti-freeze that you may have laying around and want to get rid of.  I have a lawn roller that I want to fill with water and anti-freeze but I really don’t need new for it so I figured I would see if I could come up with some that someone may have laying around some where that they have never gotten around to taking to a recycle center.  Let me know if you have some.  Thanks.
