My understanding is that Rick and the original lead Ubuntu Christian
Edition developer agreed that only scripts, and the software Linux
requires to run Windows software, would be distributed in the Ubuntu
Christian Edition package. No e-Sword executables, resources, or
utility programs would be included. The only documentation to be
included is that which is required to enable one to get e-Sword to run
on a Linux platform. The other part of their understanding, is that
e-Sword users on Linux wouldn't ask Rick for help in using e-Sword.

What David hasn't said, is that Ubuntu Christian Edition is a 32 bit OS.
If you don't mind a 32 bit OS, then Ubuntu Christian Edition is very good.
If you use 64 bit Linux, you'll need to recompile everything yourself. :(
[Don't blame David for that. He puts the packages together, to create
the Ubuntu Christian Edition Meta-package/distro. The upstream
developers are the ones who haven't created 64 bit versions of their
software. ]
With the DansGuardian package installed, and running, you don't have
to be concerned about your kids visiting inappropriate websites.
