Hmmm, may have solved it. I started up MixW and found that my audio
was running much too hot. I backed it down low, quit MixW and started
Faros... no errors so far.

I'll keep testing. Very strange that too much audio causes a divide
by zero error. I had thought that the two errors mentioned might be
related to CAT errors.

I forgot to mention, my CAT light flashes on the FT1K MP MkV Field
even when the error boxes come up.

Hello all

After reading Kevins reply I tried adjusting my audio level down and I
received the two error messages mentioned in previous posts. but only when
the input volume is set to zero, anything above that it runs and decodes for
aprox. 30sec then freezes with no visible error msg.

Nevermind, I found this post,

It answers my questions but I have no idea how to make a file that
would put the Hex at 25' instead of 40'.

Hi Elijah,

I created the HexBeam profile in the 4nec2 antenna modeling program, you can
do the same if you want. However, this may be unnecessary. My HexBeam is at
33' or so, but the predictions computed for HexBeam @40' match the real
conditions pretty well.

Hello George,

On the 'Bar' immediately above the map you should have a bunch of icons for
Labels, Grids all the way over to the slider that changes the map size. On
the 5th icon there is a drop down arrow, you can make your selections there.

Hi Eric,

MUF3000 available via the ionospheric menu in DX Atlas is not the same as
MUF. MUF is a characteristic of a path, it is caclulated in HamCap using the
Home Location as a path start. MUF3000 is a characteristic of a single point
under the mouse cursor, it is the MUF of a hypothetical 3000-km path that
has the point in question as its midpoint.

Please note that, as far as dxing/contesting is concerned, the SNR is the
only parameter that matters. All other values predicted or modeled by DX
Atlas and HamCap are useful only for understanding the propagation
mechanisms.

Alex, when I use the globe or azmuthal view and my cursor is not in the
actual map the display bar shows MUF. What is this MUF in reference to? It
keeps changing until I once again locate the cursor over the map and then it
goes back to SNR.

What I would really like to know is the MUF for a given spot on the map. I
do understand how to get this from HamCap, but it would be nice if this was
available in DX Atlas when all the programs (DX Atlas, HamCap, and
Ionoscope) are integrated.

Hello everyone,

I think found a bug when using bandmaster on a win 2000 server
machine. the error occurs when i am click and dragging the spectrum in
the bandmap screen.

I receive a "catastrophic error" pop-up window if I only click in grey
frequency band on the left of the map. The error only occurs if I
click and there is no dragging motion. However, if the mouse moves
while the left mouse button is depressed then there is no error. I
usually have to restart to reset the error.

Is there anyway to enlarge the Ham Cap Display? The display bar at the
bottom of the screen is truncated and not all information is visible.

Most other screen displays allow for the display to be wider either
vertically or horizontally when in the minimized view. Especially
since there is not a maximize option.

Hi Chuck,

DX Atlas knows nothing about your contacts and cannot show your paths. It
must be some other program that plots the path on the Atlas map, such as
your logger or cluster monitor. It is that program that defines the path
geometry. Which program are you using with DX Atlas?

I also would be interested in how to do this. I have used the pins
in DX Atlas to keep a record of what grid squares i have worked and
would like to print out some sort of master list. Any info would be
