This site is intended to act as a noticeboard for educational events, especially academic educational events in Dublin(Ireland). Though aimed at the Irish academic/higher education community, DUPLO welcomes anyone interested in education. Subscribing is free. All types/sizes of events are welcome -conferences, seminars, book launches, screenings etc. All disciplines are welcome, events can be free or charge an entrance fee, can be one-offs or part of a series, however they should be open to guests and must be in Dublin. By restricting notices geographically rather than by discipline, it is hoped that members will be made aware of events outside of their discipline and that this may encourage interdisciplinarity in the Dublin academic community. Posters are asked to be brief and descriptive and not to put up repeated notices of long-term or recurring events. Notices will be checked before they are sent on to subscribers' and members' inboxes. Notices of events run by college societies and political parties are acceptable so long as they have clear educational merit and avoid politicking directly through the service. Hopefully the service will be of some use to the dublin academic community. Directions for using Yahoo! groups mailing list; IMPORTANT NOTE: you do NOT need to register with Yahoo! to use the service to send a message to all subscribed users email your message (no attachments) to duplo@yahoogroups.com , it should be possible to add the address to your own mailing list if you have one. To receive messages send a blank email once to duplo-subscribe@yahoogroups.com (or go to http://uk.geocities.com/spikslow/ and fill in the box marked 'Duplo') to become a member of the group and have full access you will need to register with yahoo, but this is also free.
