Hey guys!
Did you see the movie frequency, I don't know if they got the idea from this
incident but in the movie the main character who is a fire fighter gets in
that very situation. There are some homeless people in a warehouse and he
goes in to save them. ( I can't tell you the outcome without ruining the
movie) but I think that is a risk they know exists. I mean do you think
they would say "Hey we can't go in to save those people, what if their just
squatting."
Their job is to save lives no matter if the people were squatting or not.
For some reason some people feel that whenever a bad situation happens
someone must be to blame. So then they go out seeking someone to blame. I
guess that's what is happening here, but it's ridiculous. Some things just
happen.
Yeah, America is a sue and be sued place, unfortunately.
anyway, my two pennies worth.

The owner of the abandoned warehouse did not allow the homeless to stay,
they were squatting.
The suit is a different matter. I fall along the lines that working as a
fire fighter carries an assumption
of risk.

Well, this list sounds great. The Great Illusion site was terrific! I
think it may have changed my life! But otherwise I don't see too much
activity in the list, which is dissappointing.
I am 39 years old and live in NY. I have looked everywhere to find my
creativity, but I just can't find it anywhere! All I know is fear.
But
courage can also be an empty word. I have ways I can psyche myself
into having some courage, but I know there is a point early on in the
game beyond which I really refuse to go.
Thanks for listening.

***Walking On Eggshells***
Each week we are bombarded with good news, and bad news. Somewhere in
the middle, we have to have something called "A Life." Not an easy
thing....but there it is. These two extremes so influence our lives, it is
no wonder depression and sickness are so prevalent. Come the end of the
week, it's easy to feel like a bouncing ball, that jumps around the four
corners.
So what kind of life can we have? The decisions, in most cases, fall
into our hands, and choices become vital to how the weather is within our own
personal world. Jot down on a piece of paper, all the things that you feel
strengthens you as a person.....that is your armor for sanity. For most of
our lives, we have to learn to come to terms with this roller-coaster ride of
good news, and bad news. That is why I feel it is so important to develop
and maintain a spiritual existence.....my connection to God. If I was to
totally rely upon this human seesaw, I too would probably go insane.
Sometimes it feels like I am walking on eggshells....between the two
barriers. Once one visually eliminates those two barriers, one learns two
walk lighter. The personal things that you use as armor, act as stabilizers
in this topsy-turvy existence. They predict that over the next twenty years
antidepressants are going to become the leading form of medication for this
country. Interesting, isn't it? How can that be? We are supposed to be the
happiest and most well-off generation on record, but these days we are
working longer hours, and spending less time with our families......that's
depressing.
So why not give it a shot, if you haven't done so already? If you feel
overwhelmed, why not jot down some of the things that you feel can lift your
spirits and make you happy? It is, after all, your life. No medication, no
politics, no spending of money, can bring true peace of mind. That comes
from having your soul intact.....and balancing between the good news, and the
bad news.

***Magic Formula***
I recently took a journey partway across country. I drove through
about 4 states, each place living a little differently than the next. As you
stop along the highway for coffee, one can get a gist of how people feel in
the current climate of overall life. No two people live life exactly the
same, but as groups we do gravitate towards certain norms. While it's easy
for us to believe that everyone sees life the same way we do, once we get
outside of our surroundings we can throw the script out the window. Each
town, city, and state have set in place their own view of happiness. Some of
it we may agree with, some of it we may not, but different strokes for
different folks.
Many of us seem to be looking for the Magic Formula, which basically
is: 1) Having a nice place to live. 2) Having enough money to afford what we
need. 3) Feeling good about ourselves and loved ones. 4) Seeing a Greater
Picture to life. I'm sure, as always, you can add a point or two to this
list, to make it more personal....but overall this seems to be what many of
us desire. The journey to fulfill this "Magic Formula" can take numerous
twists and turns, and as I learned on my recent trip, the different faces
showed the stages at which people are at on their journeys.
At one rest stop I saw a man and his wife in a large recreational
vehicle, or motorhome, taking a break, so I approached them and asked if I
could take a look at their "home on wheels." As the door opened his smiling
wife invited me in, and to my shock, inside was basically an apartment fully
equipped with shower, kitchen, bedroom, and livingroom. I could not believe
how much could be put into one of these vehicles. The man whose name was
Bob, said to me, "This is my baby." I asked him why he feels that he wants
to drive around like this. He responded, "Ah ha! This is my freedom. In
this vehicle I can go anywhere. All my life I was told I had to stay within
the confines of my small town. What I've learned about life with this
traveling home on wheels I could never have learned in any University."
"What have you learned?" I asked. "Well, Jennifer," he responded, "I have
learned that people basically are good. What's screws them up is pain. If
they think you're not going to hurt them, they will more than oblige you."
To me, Bob, and his wife Shirley, in some way, have found their Magic
Formula. The joy that was written on their two faces was incredible. Also,
upon my travels, I visited a local hospital. I witnessed a family being
there to support a relative who was having surgery. As they waited for the
operation to be completed, the sweaty palms and nervousness echoed around
them. Suddenly the doors opened and the surgeon approached them with the
news...."Everything went well." The look on the doctor's face that she had
been successful with the operation and relieved that everything went
according to plan, showed me that she too had found her Magic Formula. For
her, this is how she feels fulfilled and contributes to other people's lives.
There are thousands of stories like these, where we set out to fill the
void and embrace the answers to our questions. "Why is my life important?
How can I make a difference? What makes me feel fulfilled?" we ask
ourselves. What we eventually learn is that most of what we need from life
involves other people. Life is meant to be shared. It's a continuing
process, this Magic Formula. Once you have discovered it, you must continue
to practice it. Bob and Shirley, the motorhome people, continue to drive off
each month to seek out new places to visit. They fully believe that the more
they explore, the more they grow. The surgeon goes home feeling she has done
the best job she could, even if things don't always work out exactly the way
she wanted.
The Magic Formula incorporates the body, mind, and soul. Each are a
vital link to the other for growth and awareness. Every day do something
that will contribute to the wellness of your Formula.
Be Well,
Jennifer Avalon

I saw frequency. They combined quantum mechanics (the
idea of parallel universes where all possible
sequences of events exist) and relativity theory (the
mutability of time). I liked the movie. If only we
could all go back to pivotal points in our past and
choose the other path.

Three fire fighters in Worster, Mass have given their life in helping putting off the fire in a large storage room. Now their family are suing the owner of the storage garage for allowing the homeless staying at the garage.
Not only this will discourage people from helping others, but it is contradicting to their husband's will. I think,
One of my colleagues said, 'Sue is a popular name in the States'.

Dear Friend,
Hope everything is fine for you this week.
Sometimes we plan so far ahead we forget about the current day. This week's
essay touches on this subject....it's called "Living in The Moment." I wish
you all a happy and safe week-end. Here in the United States it is Memorial
Day Weekend.
Take care of yourself out
there,
love, Jennifer
***Living in the Moment***
This past week New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani decided not to run for
the soon to be vacated seat of the Senator representing the state of New
York. He withdrew from the race because of the discovery that he has
prostate cancer. In part of his statement he mentioned that the three most
important things that a person should concern themselves with in life are: 1.
Take care of your health. 2. Give and receive Love. and 3. Business.
Giuliani also said he received some bad advice when he was young, "It is
better to be respected than loved." Today, he disagrees with that
philosophy. Whether you're a fan of the Mayor or not, one thing is for
sure....if you take a look at the man's eyes, there is no doubt this medical
problem has had a profound affect on his life.
So many of us, myself included, are guilty of focusing so far ahead in
our lives that we totally forget about the Moment. We assume all will go
according to plan, and that two weeks down the road everything will fall
neatly into place, while each day getting there becomes a blur. We act like
an express train that skips local stops, believing after a while that those
stops are irrelevant. There is so much Life in each Moment that few of us
are able to experience and soak in all that is there. Isn't it ironic that
in most cases only when we have conflict do we fully understand how precious
each Moment truly is?
When we don't embrace the Moment everything goes on fast forward. Our
five year old children, in the blink of an eye, turn into eighteen year old
adults, and we are left wondering where all the time went. We're all just so
busy. The weeks roll by and before you know it another holiday season comes
around. The more we focus on the Moment, the more we are alive, the longer
we live, and time slows down. One example for this is, have you ever opened
a bag of candy, and gobbled handfuls, until it was empty? Have you also
picked, one by one, savored the taste, until you preceded to the next one?
Tell me, which way lasted longer? And which did you enjoy more?
What really makes us happy? For me, it is to simplify. The less I
have to take care of materially, the happier I am. That extra car, that
bigger house, not only costs more money, but costs more time. In society
today many of us are tapped out....not only financially, but also time-wise.
The Moment is the real key to the beginning stage of happiness. All that we
are is in the Moment. The past is gone, and the future lies ahead...while we
exist in the Now. The Moment is so important because it is the closest point
to silence, and when all is silent, we can truly hear.
We would like to remind you of this upcoming event.

Hey how are you? I just got back from Nepal last week. I spent 3 weeks there trekking through the mountains up to Everest Base Camp. It was quite an adventure (though quite gruelling at times). I'd love to check out your site when I have a spare moment. Hope you & the family are well. Take care!

For those of you who find your self on this list and are wondering what its all about. Well, I hope it will become a discussion list about pursuing your dreams and inspirations in life and what is involved with doing that successfully.
Everyone has had at one time or another dreams hopes and inspirations. Some have succeeded ,but with the difficulties and distractions of everyday life many of us have given up, forgotten and or don't know how to to make them happen.
Anyway, this list is a place where we can talk about that and hopefully help each other out.

That is a cool idea of god you have. yeah I need to make the god part more open so people can fit in there own personal ideas about god. my main point with including god in the book was just that there was a higher power involved, I didn't really want to get into an exact definition of what that power was because that would ultimately exclude or offend somebody and miss the point.
As for your ideas about selling this idea to the corporate world another idea hit me that maybe I could do consulting as well as retreats. But with the consulting I could charge an hourly rate and advise companies on how they could implement these principle in their organization. That is something I could start doing right away! So thank you for inspiring me to move in that direction it really helped. I am determined to follow the "make money with your dream instead of making money to do your dream" principle but sometimes it is hard. But then I remember that just because I can't think of an answer does not mean an answer is not there. Of course this is where I think god and inspiration come into the picture.

Will,
About the things we where talking yesterday. We have some different views of God and that is OK, I believe each one should find its self with him. I see God as a super power, and we made a mistake that anger him. Like a parent not a bad person, he punished us to this live on earth not to suffer, but to understand how hard is obtaining knowledge and food. For us a 100 years seems like a long time, but to the universe and God is probably 1 sec.
Back to what I was trying to say. I see humans as a plant, we put a seed, give it water and we let it grow. The branches, leaves and roots take shape according to decisions the tree has to do by instinct to survive. In an arid area a tree might grow smaller than in the jungle to save resources. I see humans on the same way, we where planted here on earth and we grow according to our environment we chose; but we could chose the path we should take. We are smart and we are given knowledge little by little every day, exactly like it was supposed to be on the garden of Eden days. We cannot see God because he is like the plant, us relation ship. The plant cannot see out of his world, like and ant or a snail, they can only see a few feet. God then to us is only ripples that are left behind as he passes, we cover our plants with a blanket when it gets cold. The plant does not know is us, but it feels something in top of it which is protecting it.
This will give and idea of some of my philosophy, we have some differences in thoughts and maybe we could change your meaning of God ideas to to provide positive energy and let the audience decide which way they want to go.

Just kidding.

'LOVE' WORM SPREADING FAST

A new, virulent worm known as the "Love Bug" is infesting computer networks
throughout the world and has shut down major email servers, including the
Pentagon's.
Experts say it might exceed the infamous Melissa worm in both speed and
destructiveness.
The virus, spread through an email visual basic script attachment with the
subject header "ILOVEYOU," began invading U.S. networks overnight Thursday
after being first detected in Europe.
Companies with branch offices in Europe and Asia have been reporting the
arrival of the worm on their networks. There are also reports that Johnson
Space Center in Houston has been hit, along with Jet Propulsion Lab, Philips
Customer Call Centers, and Ticketmaster Citysearch.
"This worm spreads at an amazing speed", said Mikko Hypponen, manager of
anti-virus research at F-Secure Corporation. "We got the first report around
9 a.m. on Thursday from Norway, and by 1 p.m. we had reports from over 20
countries."
Hypponen estimate that total number of infected machines is already in the
tens of thousands.
"We've got it and it killed our Intranet for two hours" said Joe Gleason
from ArtStart, a Manhattan printing production company. "We've got
associates in London, and the 'ILOVEYOU' email literally flooded all
morning. This thing spreads like wildfire. It appears to be way worse than
Melissa was."
Gleason's IT director, Jonathan Antipass, was not as concerned. "We were
getting heavily bombed with this virus, but we've told users not to open the
emails. It doesn't do anything unless you tale a peek at it, which some
people oddly seem compelled to do," he said.
Antipass says that the worm is passing through corporate firewalls because
most are not set up to reject attachments with a .txt.vbs extension.
He also notes that the worm seems to be deleting JPEG graphic files and
replacing them with copies of the .VBS virus file.
Antipass says he's isolated the virus on a non-connected machine and is now
watching to see what sites it's trying to connect with so he can block those
sites from ArtStart's network. He believes that is an essential next step
for any company that has been infected.
Chicago attorney Melvin Golden also says his network was infested, to the
point where partners who have extensive dealings with European clients have
had their computers removed from the network.
"We are now watching the emails come in at a rate of about 10 an hour. We
thought it was strange that so many of our European clients suddenly decided
they loved us," he said.
The virus is believed to have originated in the Philippines, where it was
called "the Manila Killer." It arrives in an email with a subject line that
reads 'ILOVEYOU.' The email contains a one-line message reading, "kindly
check the attached LOVELETTER coming from me" and an attachment titled
LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.VBS.
Once the attachment is opened the virus spawns copies of itself to everyone
in the victim's Microsoft Outlook email address book. It also infects VBS
files on the recipient's drives as well as overwriting JPEG and local HTML
files with its own code and searches for mIRC chat files. If found, the
virus inserts a custom script in it to infect other mIRC users, and then
sends itself to every contact in the infected computer's address book.
LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU will also try to download an BUGFIX.EXE file from four
Internet sites, although what the downloaded file will then do was not
immediately known.
The virus, officially called "vbs.loveletter.a" by virus company Symantec,
doesn't seem to destroy any data, but it clogs up networks with thousands of
copies of the replicated message.
European computer systems were hit hard by the virus, which shut down
networks at Britain's Parliament and the London House of Commons for several
hours. Dow Jones reported that the worm has also affected networks in Hong
Kong and Singapore, hitting investment banks and public relations firms
particularly hard.
Symantec has already released an update to its antiviral software
application, but warns computer users that the best action is simply not to
open any "ILOVEYOU" messages.
