Thank-you for your interest in bushfire community safety, every resident needs to be concerned.
We are an objective group reflecting the Dandenong Ranges community’s bushfire safety related concerns. We are about finding solutions to a RANGE of residents concerns and are NOT about concreting the Dandenongs! We love our environment and wish to find balance between people and nature.
DRCBG is a community advocacy group, we aim to do this in a positive and constructive way, building good relationships between government and community. We want to be a stakeholder in our own bushfire safety issues!
DRCBG have now structured 40 active group members into 5 sub groups with team coordinators. They will report back to an informal committee group meeting once a month concerning plans, progress, ideas etc. The goal is to WORK TOGETHER to focus on agreed priority issues, and possible solutions.
Subgroups:
Education
Fuel Management
Early/Emergency Warning Systems
Refuge/Bunkers/Assembly Areas
Communication
Active subgroup members meet regularly to decide next courses of action such as council submissions and issues needing to be raised with authorities.
If you'd like to participate, join the website group or
contact us with your interest.
We are working on a new website, to be launched shortly.
