this is also why neighbors (especially immediate neighbors) should petition the
city to have most of the area around the park designated as "no parking (red
zone)": 34th as it cuts through the parks, specifically -- and the park side of
haven.
the remainder of the blocks around the park (peralta sides and the romak side of
haven -- as well as peralta as it extends down past the rec-center -- past
romak) designated as "one hour (green zone)" and fitzgerald, the north side of
haven and the west side of 34th should be tagged as "one hour except by permit".
jay will throw a fit, but there's *no* good reason why anyone associated with
his business (legitimately) should have a need to park there longer than an hour
-- and i think you might get support from business owners on harlan -- and if
they do, they are demonstrating a drain on the otherwise residential
neighborhood (i.e.: the taco truck -- no need for it to stay longer than an hour
-- dogtown is not a fast-food joint)...
this is a neighborhood "pocket" park -- and unlike tilden, defremery, etc. --
has no need for folks to legitimately drive to it. and alliance, as a
drive-up/walk-up business has no need for folks to stay longer than an hour --
in fact, i think this was one of jay's defenses "my customers don't stay -- the
people in the park (and in the RVs) are no my customers"... but i could be
wrong.
once tagged as limited/no-parking zones, this will give the city greater
authority to control the traffic in the area -- specifically the campers.
granted, they'll find somewhere else to park, but the key is separating the
vagrants, the park and alliance... once these three are separated, many of the
troubles will dissipate. not go away entirely, but the catalyst will have been
removed.

Alliance. I just drove by and it's like a g** d*** RV park. My neighbor says
that he's seen these clowns dumping trash and urinating on the trees. Is it
illegal to turn our neighborhood streets into an RV park? Along with all the
other crap from Alliance this is just crazy. I'm sure these RVs also attract
other undesirable activities (i.e., drug use). I've been seeing more young men
on bikes around these RVs which we all know these "visits" are just drug
transactions going down. Which then leads to neighborhood thefts to support
their drug habits.
