Hi Graham,
I’m glad you found the video interesting. Thank you for taking the time to
watch it, and I hope it serves you and your students well. There are other
videos about education in the Frontline (PBS) series that are well worth
watching. To me, Frontline is exceptional journalism. Fox News would
probably disagree. J
Gavin,
The exchanges between you and me seem to be drifting off into a place that
does not interest the members of this listserv. So, let me just say, I
believe I understand your point about the integrity and sophistication of
teachers. I don’t think all teachers will slavishly follow technological
trends just because ICB is cool or flashy. I don’t believe any of the dogme
list members are against digital technology in education per se. It seems to
me, it’s a perceived (by me) attitude of “You’re either with us or against
us”, which I sense in Karenne’s recent post, that turns people off. All I’ve
ever wanted to say is that technology is not inherently beneficial just
because it is new and different, just as technology is not inherently evil
for the same reasons.
So let’s follow others’ lead on this thread by talking about practical ways
to teach dogme classes using digital technology, or not.
Rob
