Take a dream vacation in a hotel located in the middle of Disney's

On Wednesday April 4, 2007 from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM on the History

Modern Marvels - Walt Disney World
Journey underground and backstage at the technological marvel that is
Walt Disney World. Enter a make-believe world spanning some 27,000
acres, brought to life by cutting-edge technology. What was once Florida
swampland now boasts the world's largest theme park. The ride technology
ranges from space-age centrifuges to enhanced motion vehicles powered by
3,000 PSI of hydraulic pressure. And hundreds of audio animatronics
brought to life through the power of pneumatics, hydraulics, and
electrical systems. Walt Disney World is made up of four separate theme
parks, each with its own innovations: the 107-acre Magic Kingdom, Epcot,
Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. The four parks are all
part of a megaplex of a resort. Twice the size of Manhattan, it was the
final vision and crowning achievement of a man who spent more than 40
years pushing the limits of technology to create entertainment magic:
Walt Disney.

NEW FOOTAGE IN TRAVEL CHANNEL SHOWS!

Five of last week's same old, same old shows will be on again on
Thursday April 12 (times below).
At least three of these have confirmed updated footage for 2007. Not a
lot of extra stuff, but they have at least updated the shows. The three
shows with known new footage are Disney Cruise Line, Disney's Animal
Kingdom, and Walt Disney World Resort:Behind the Scenes.

On Tuesday April 10, 2007 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM on the Travel
Channel is

John Ratzenberger's Made in America - Budweiser
Join us as we catch a pop fly at Nocona Sporting Goods in Nocona, Texas,
down a can of red and white at the Anheuser Busch brewery in St. Louis,
Missouri, and then head off to Tomorrowland to see why the world of
Disney is a small world after all. (TVKirby note - The segment of the
show is the last 5 minutes or so. It is really just a short history of
Animatronics. Lots of footage we've seen before <Wathel Rogers in the
Carousel of Progress programming harness, etc.>. Segments are shown from
all the parks and going back 50 years. Expedition Everest's Yeti is
shown, but commentary says it opened in 2005 instead of the correct year
of 2006. Lucky the Dinosaur is also shown. Worth recording for the
completist. Interesting, but not essential viewing.)

---

On Wednesday April 11, 2007 from 11:30 PM to 12:00 AM on Cartoon Network is

Family Guy - The Courtship of Stewie's Father
Stewie has been taking out his aggressions on Lois, and she decides that
the reason is because he isn't close enough to his father, so she orders
them to bond. They finally succeed at Disney World. Carrie Fisher
provides the voice of Angela, Peter's boss at the Pawtucket Brewery.
(TVKirby note - This show is on late at night for a reason! Rude and
Crude and I was laughing out loud when Stewie fufills the old Jungle
Cruise joke and gets
chained and forced to sing in the attraction that approximates "small
world" in the Family Guy universe version of WDW.)

This show will repeat
Thursday April 12, 2007 from 3:00 AM to 3:30 AM

---

On Thursday April 12, 2007 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the Travel Channel is

Chronicling the design, construction and final ride-testing of Disney
World attractions, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain
and the Tower of Terror. Also: interviews with the “Imagineers” who
dream up the attractions.

---

On Thursday April 12, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the Travel Channel is

Undiscovered Walt Disney World
Little-known attractions and exclusive side trips at the family-themed
amusement park include a personal yacht trip and deluxe meals at the
chef's table.

Disney-MGM Studios in this in-depth behind-the-scenes tour. Orlando,
Florida, once a sleepy town, has become the nation's #1 vacation spot
and a rite of passage for children the world over. Note - This show has
new content updated for 2007

This show will repeat

Not Family Safe.)

Boy Meets World - The Happiest Show on Earth
Cory (Ben Savage) heads to Walt Disney World with the hopes of winning back
Topanga (Danielle Fishel), but she thinks he has other plans. (TVKirby
Note - This one drives me crazy with antics like casually walking backstage at
the Living Seas and sleeping in a Splash Mountain log just to force the
joke of getting wet when the ride starts for the day - Yeah Right!)

---

On Wednesday April 25, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM on ABC Family Channel is

On Wednesday April 25, 2007 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM on VH1 is

I Love the '80s: 3D - "1982" Episode #3.
Orange Julius; `Victor/Victoria'; EPCOT Center; Freezy Freakies; `Cats'; Human
League; Bow Wow Wow; Tron'; VCRs. VH1 description says"In 1982, Walt
Disney helped us keep our science straight and bored kids to tears with his
brand new EPCOT Center, the "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow."
(TVKirby sez - The segment is the second one after the commercial break at 40
minutes in. As expected, they spend a huge TWO minutes with the VH1
celebrities that call it both Fantastic and Boring. Wil Wheaton proclaims it
"Everything that Geeks Love". They show scenes from opening day. There is a shot
of Dreamfinder and Figment. Commentary on World Showcase concentrates on the
availability of alcohol. Lots of "It looks like a big golf ball"
references to Spaceship Earth combined with a graphic of a giant golf club
hitting it. It was about what you would expect from VH1. Worth recording for the
footage.)

before <Wathel Rogers in the Carousel of Progress programming harness, etc.>.
Segments are shown from all the parks and going back 50 years. Expedition
Everest's Yeti is shown, but commentary says it opened in 2005 instead of the
correct year of 2006. Lucky the Dinosaur is also shown. Worth recording for the
completist. Interesting, but not essential viewing.)

New show.

On PBS Kids on Tuesday (seen here in Atlanta twice) is Fetch! with
Ruff Ruffman which is promising to have a segment at WDW where two of
the kids design a Rollercoaster (I am guessing at Disney Quest, but
the website with the details on this show (episode 14)
http://pbskids.org/fetch/parentsteachers/program/episodes.html has a
picture of several people riding what may be Big Thunder. As this is
PBS, the show can be on at any time on any particular PBS station. As

Wow - A new show and a rarely shown movie about Ub Iwerks.
-
New Show - Food Network - Saturday July 7 at 9pm with a repeat at midnite.

Amusement Park Eats
Amusement parks across the country are visited to sample their
unique treats. Stops include Busch Gardens in Virginia for cannelloni;
Dollywood in Tennessee for BBQ; Coney Island for hot dogs; Disney
World's Sunshine Garden for Mickey Mouse-shaped squash.
-

Comcast (check your cable or satellite provider) - Thursday July 5 at
9pm with a repeat at 11pm

The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story (1999)
Though Walt Disney is often solely credited as a great pioneer
of animation, he would not have his iconic Mickey Mouse character if
it were not for the
late Ub Iwerks. This documentary about the talented animator who made
the early Disney shorts starring Mickey Mouse, assembles rare footage
and interviews with
animators who worked with Iwerks, all with funding from the very
studio he helped start, bitterly left and rejoined years later.

Nocona, Texas, down a can of red and white at the Anheuser Busch
brewery in St. Louis,
Missouri, and then head off to Tomorrowland to see why the world of
Disney is a small world after all. (TVKirby note - The segment of the
show is the last
5 minutes or so. It is really just a short history of Animatronics.
Lots of footage we've seen before <Wathel Rogers in the Carousel of
Progress programming
harness, etc.>. Segments are shown from all the parks and going back
50 years. Expedition Everest's Yeti is shown, but commentary says it
opened in 2005
instead of the correct year of 2006. Lucky the Dinosaur is also shown.
Worth recording for the completist. Interesting, but not essential
viewing.)

On Monday August 6, 2007 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM on the Travel Channel is

John Ratzenberger's Made in America - Budweiser
Join us as we catch a pop fly at Nocona Sporting Goods in Nocona,
Texas, down a can of red and white at the Anheuser Busch brewery in
St. Louis, Missouri, and then head off to Tomorrowland to see why the
world of Disney is a small world after all. (TVKirby note - The
segment of the show is the last 5 minutes or so. It is really just a
short history of Animatronics. Lots of footage we've seen before
<Wathel Rogers in the Carousel of Progress programming harness, etc.>.
Segments are shown from all the parks and going back 50 years.
Expedition Everest's Yeti is shown, but commentary says it opened in
2005 instead of the correct year of 2006. Lucky the Dinosaur is also
shown. Worth recording for the completist. Interesting, but not
essential viewing.)

On Saturday August 11, 2007 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Ovation is

The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story (1999)
Though Walt Disney is often solely credited as a great pioneer of
animation, he would not have his iconic Mickey Mouse character if it
were not for the late Ub Iwerks. This documentary about the talented
animator who made the early Disney shorts starring Mickey Mouse,
assembles rare footage and interviews with animators who worked with
Iwerks, all with funding from the very studio he helped start,
bitterly left and rejoined years later.

This show will repeat

---

On Sunday August 12, 2007 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM on ABC Family Channel is

On Friday August 17, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on VH1 is

I Love the '80s: 3D - "1982" Episode #3.
Orange Julius; `Victor/Victoria'; EPCOT Center; Freezy
Freakies; `Cats'; Human League; Bow Wow Wow; Tron'; VCRs. VH1
description says"In 1982, Walt Disney helped us keep our science
straight and bored kids to tears with his brand new EPCOT Center, the
"Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow." (TVKirby sez - The
segment is the
second one after the commercial break at 40 minutes in. As expected,
they spend a huge TWO minutes with the VH1 celebrities that call it
both Fantastic and Boring. Wil Wheaton proclaims it "Everything that
Geeks Love". They show scenes from opening day. There is a shot of
Dreamfinder and Figment. Commentary on World Showcase concentrates on
the availability of alcohol. Lots of "It looks like a big golf ball"
references to Spaceship Earth combined with a graphic of a giant golf
club hitting it. It was about what you would expect from VH1. Worth
recording for the footage.)

---

On Friday August 17, 2007 from 11:30 PM to 12:00 AM on Cartoon Network is

Family Guy - The Courtship of Stewie's Father
Stewie has been taking out his aggressions on Lois, and she
decides that the reason is because he isn't close enough to his
father, so she orders them to bond. They finally succeed at Disney
World. Carrie Fisher provides the voice of Angela, Peter's boss at the
Pawtucket Brewery. (TVKirby note - This show is on late at night for a
reason! Rude and Crude and I was laughing out loud when Stewie fufills
the old Jungle Cruise joke and gets chained and forced to sing in the
attraction that approximates "small world" in the Family Guy universe
version of WDW.)

This show will repeat
Saturday August 18, 2007 from 3:00 AM to 3:30 AM

---

On Sunday August 19, 2007 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM on the Travel Channel is

World, these fantasy-themed resorts turn back the clock to the

Samantha enjoys the super-sized pool and a Kitchen Sink sundae.

There will be a marathon of Disney Parks shows this coming Sunday
(9/23) on the Travel Channel. No new shows, but continuous Disney
Parks shows from 2pm to
8pm.

There is a show (also on Sunday at 3pm) on the CW (formerly UPN)
affiliate here in Atlanta that has not been shown much. It is the
George Lopez show where he goes to Disneyland. If you remember, when
this show was first on in 2004, it was associated with a contest at
that time for people to count hidden Mickeys in the show. Of course
there is no contest this time around, but the hidden Mickeys are fun!
Check local listings of the CW network to see if this is on in other
cities.
