I agree. No one loses anything by keeping the club open, and it's a way to keep
interest alive on some level. BTW, we should always remember that THE DIRTY
PAIR's place in manga/anime history is quite secure, even if there isn't a new
incarnation on the way. TZ101

It's time to call it quits. When the Angels made their reappearance on cable tv
a few years back, I was confident someone would revive the franchise, but that
never happened. You never hear them mentioned in anime circles any more. I don't
think we are fighting a losing battle; I think we've lost.

Speaking for myself and my anime club members at both YG's Animeaholics1 and my
anime-a-holics group at EONS I say yeah. However, since most Angel-a-holics are
our age (I am 60 years young) why not open dp2 over at EONS? Mine and a site
called anime music videos are about the ONLY two anime clubs there and yours
would be the ONLY Lovely Angels' club there making you an exclusive. Want to
know why dp2 is failing after more than a decade? Probably the same reason why
keiandyuris at YG is failing. All the junk (non anime I mean) you allow there!
Most of it is crap from lonely hearts maids trying to find their soul mate and
some idiot keeps sending a 'cute' pix of two Koala bears frolicking in the sun!
The link to say you like the damned thing takes you to a friends social
networking site. You are not alone and it does not stop there. People will use
us as a marketplace for all kinds of junk! I banned three of 'em from my
Animeaholics1 club here at YG. At EONS and by the way my club takes members 12
and up. There is no longer an over 50 only stipulation at EONS. Anyway at
anime-a-holics I have never had any spamming problems whatsoever. Why? Because
if you get caught you get blocked, that's why. Ever see some of the spam crap
that Hotmail and Yahoo let filter through? Get rich quick schemes, outright
lying job offers, want to become a priest, I am from ZeiderZee and I have 50
million pounds I need your help with spending, etc. Most of it does go to the
junk filters but a Helluva lot of it doesn't. Windows Live Messenger is loaded
with this junk and there are no filters over there. My group is AnimeFriends if
anyone's interested. I seem to be the only Angels' writer of fanfictions left. I
wrote Christmas with the DP and now I'm doing Angel Wings. At fanfiction.net
which ahs 40 DP entries besides me the last post there of a DP ff was August of
2008! Got a question for you oh great King Noz- where can someone find the
original original Dirty Pair 26 eppy subbed never dubbed series on VHS or DVD? I
got mine long ago from Ed Sum in Canada but he's since retired and moved to
Japan. He no longer hawks anime stuff either. Oh yeah and on FaceBook there is
an active DP wall with some nice stuff. Last post before mine was sometime last
week. No interest in DP? Twitter has them even. I heard the 'It's not my
fault/Well it certainly isn't my fault is it?' diatribe on a drama series
(Dexter) a few weeks back. It's even rumoured that Peter Jackson may be looking
into filming a live DP soon. HB to Classic Kei and HB to Takachiho Haruka
their mentor whom I have honoured in Angel Wings by naming the Academy of the
3WA after him. I even put the gals in charge of running it but that didn't last
long! I'll put the word out and see what happens for you. Think about relocating
DP2 to EONS eh? Sayonara for now and Kami bless you King Nozmo- K&K (Keiman of

Hola:
I am very sorry for my lack of participation on the group. Its all personal
issues. I have reached a point in life where I have little motivation or time
for anime related stuff. Have I out-grew this stuff? Definitively NOT! I just
don't have the stamina of days long past to enjoy anime as I used to. Not to
mention my economical state (not that there are so many DP stuff to buy - at
reasonable prices, that is!! - around as of late.
As to the future of the group I dare not to make suggestions because my view of
what can or not work may be out of touch with reality. But I do wish the group
remains alive for future generations to enjoy the show (s) because its sad when
a show fades into obscurity just because its dated. I could be wrong because I
see things through the guys of an old guy that grew on that era we cherish so
much and to me things done in the past still are good today.
I wish I knew the group would become 11-years-old but then again what could I
have done to make a proper celebration.
I hope this is the kind of answer you wanted to read. If not, sorry but I can't
help myself.

I still follow the email distros, and every once in a while a new product is
mentioned on the group which I was unaware of, albeit my responses have been
sparse over the past couple of years (primarily due to being wrapped up in
finishing my dissertation), and when some members use the yahoo group as a tool
for spamming I could see where whoever is the admin may find it more of a hassle

I share your opinion. As of late I have began to loose my hope on live action
adaptations of animated/comics/games/book characters. The Transformers movie was
not as appealing as I would like and the GI Joe one was OK but could have been
better. But I no longer hold my breath hoping for something extraordinary coming
from this genre. :(
As of a live action DP movie, would love to see but I would be very skeptic of a
successful adaptation. Though I believe it would not be so hard to adapt
something like a DP anime into live action. We're not talking about
shape-shifting giant robots from outer space or anything like that.

O_O Quite similar if you ask me! And I am not saying that because they're
heroines in bikini with guns but because those suits are too similar to our
Lovely Angels' outfits! Not taking in consideration the "original" name given to
the movie. :P

And thanks for sharing. This is a nice finding indeed!!!
The Summer Wonder Festival was a couple weekends ago (in a new location and
in revival after the escalator accident at Tokyo Big Site lead to cancellation
of the Festival for last winter). I ran across this in the last week and have
tracked down enough about it to post about.
MERSA-Figure has been making resin kits of female characters from anime
series going back to the '70s (Cyborg 009!) since 2003 [
http://www.mersa-figure.com/Show.aspx?P=180&tk=15949 ]. At the recent WonFes,
they released, among their latest works, 1/6-scale figures of Flash-Kei and Yuri
. Photos at the show are posted at a couple of pages:

[the prices seem kind of excessive on these pages -- I've seen closer to $40-50
elsewhere]
(Keep in mind that, as these are "garage kits", they need to be assembled and
painted.)
I also have a bunch of links I'll put up later for recent cosplay and fanart
(this has been a big summer for Classic DP pix!).
...not that I think film adaptations work out well much of the time (and I
don't think a DP movie would go well). Anyway, an item I was told about a while
ago is this entry in the extensive Super Sexy Heroine series from Zen Pictures [

Dirty Gemini . This video came out last October; as far as I can tell, these
series are not more than ecchi .

There are the usual "swaps" done with the details to dodge copyrights. The
official codename of the duo is the "Happy Birds", but criminals fear them as
"Dirty Gemini". The analogy is
Yuri --> Mei (with short hair, in the pink uniform)
Kei --> Lily (with long hair, in the yellow uniform)
The disc is pretty widely available online and not expensive, by Japanese DVD
standards. I may get this eventually for the sake of the collection and comment
on it once I replace my defunct multi-region player...
Many arigatous my tomo for clearing that up. I believe I have confused her with
Ella (Hathaway) whom I use in my ff's as Anne Hathaway's mom. As a chief Ella's
subordinate is Lily! That's after she comes out of the hospital with a broken
arm when she runs afoul of Kome Sawaguchi (Blue Seed) at the Moon Over Mayhem
bar! Her dtr Anne becomes Keitarou Riff's partner with her own time ship in the
3WA- many years in her mom's future! Guess who HER chief is at that time? Again
arigatou for the Maya info and I do not have those stereo CD disks nor could I
play them even if I did. Obviously they are subbed only- right? Maybe someone
has ULd them to VEOH or even TangSooPap's Anime Music Videos over at eons. I
will look for that game link for ya KN- I promise. Toodles- K&K

She's Maya (no last name given), Poporo's successor as Chief for the Lovely

the stories in the Stereo Drama CDs.
Maya is introduced in the first story in this disk and is initially rather
looking forward to her new assignment. On the drive in to WWWA HQ, she spots a
red sports car racing past her (150 kph over the limit!) and orders it to pull
over. (Guess who's at the wheel?)
Hauling the as-yet-unknown scofflaw in to her office, she eventually pieces
together that this young woman works there herself when she recognizes Poporo's
old office. Maya finally asks this person for her ID and makes the (horrifying)
discovery that this is one of her new subordinates and that the "Lovely Angels"

ends up having to phone Yuri (who is massively hungover from last night's date)

I couldn't follow all of the ensuing conversation, but Maya comes to recognize
that she is going to have her hands full with this team, as she later bemoans in

Sorry tomo but I only found it by yahooing Casio Dirty Pair games and when the

ebay as it is a bidding auction site and I prefer to buy not haggle nor dicker.
If I can find it I will post you a link- OK King Nozmo? Man is it ever hard to
find Lovely Angel stuff! Glad I completed my audio/video collection a decade and
a half ago. I have a Zippo DP/Flash lighter and some DLs for cursors, wallpaper,

won't be back anytime soon since Showtime owns the rights and ain't showing 'em.

Could you provide a link to the entry you found? I searched through the current
eBay listings and found nothing fitting that description.
I've never heard of anything related from Casio. There's the Bandai disk game
based on "EDEN" and the pachinko game, for which a simulation version is
available on CD, but these don't sound like what you're mentioning... I've also
never turned up any online games.

30 years+ eh? Happy anniversary to our kawaii enjeru- Kei & Yuri. I'm
celebrating by hitting my own milestone- 50 chapters+ posted of my latest
fanfiction 'Angel Wings' which picks up where 'Xmas with the DP' left off. I
gave our Angels last names and then some gang:
Yuri Bridget Maureen Donovan (At last check she was a Wing Commander)
Kei(rran) Maureen Deirdre O'Shaughnessy O'Halloran (at last check she was a
Marshall)
Their ships are the Lovely Angels 1, 2 and 3- 1 is Yuri's, 2 is Kei's and the
main one while 3 is to be Brigadier Marlene Angel and soon to be Colonel Kome
Sawaguchi's 3WA/UG patrol starship.
Who else is aboard this time around? Practically everyone who is anyone in
anime, TV, books, history, etc. I am working on Ch 52 now and hope to wind up
Wings at 60 chapters but we'll see eh?
By the way I have an old pix in my albums showing the Flash Angels flanking a
taller blonde lady wearing a yellow dress. I have no idea where it came from nor
do I know whom this lady could be. Ella was a minor sub-chief in the 3WA but she
was in the ODP not the Flash series. Could be from the Nolandia, 009 or EDEN
flicks I suppose because she looks familiar. Any ideas?

Maybe you guys and gals want another 'faux' interview like I did for Kei? One
for someone else? Mr Wilbury did a nice one on Yuri some years back which is
where I got the idea.
A new (or old) quiz? Questions & Answers sessions? Review requests? Voice Actor
opinions? Polls? Anything?
The Keiman of Anime is here for you always. Sayonara and Kami bless you all.

I just saw on eBay that a rare Lovely Angels electronic game from Casio sold for
less than $10! Anyone know of anyplace where I can find any LA/DP video games
online? RSVP here or at keiman0@..., Twitter or my wall at FaceBook or
MySpace. I am also looking for the original (smallrockets?) Red Baron pc video
game aka The Red Ace. I played it in the 90s and now it seems to have vamoosed
from the airwaves. Maybe Snoopy shot him down for good? Thanks a lot hazu.

I am working on Ch 52 now and hope to wind up
Wings at 60 chapters but we'll see eh?

was published, which contained the first published story of the Lovely

Best wishes for the future and continued interest in the Angels!
First allow me to apologize for breaking my own cardinal rule and using my
internet family for selfish purposes. My brother (He's 53 now and I am 59. Mama
is 82) is trying to buy a new 2009 or even a leftover 2008 Hyundai Tuscon SUV
with leather heate seats. A 4 cylinder model is preferable and automatic
transmission and 4 doors is a must. He would like most of the usual stuff but no
car phons, bluetooth tech, nav systems, etc. Just a basic car with some of the
perks- OK? Got that? Fine. Now here's the problem. He already has a 2007 Jeep
Liberty SUV which he still owes almost $27 thousand on. Since he vehicles
BlueBook tradein value is only $10 thousand he cannot get an auto refinance on
the thing nor can he locate anyone willing to take over the payments when he
sells it to them. If he keeps this Jeep and negotiates w/o a tradein and puts up
a grand downpayment on the new one his payments will be around $400 month. Added
to th $715 h pays for the Jeep that is almost $1200 month he'd be paying.
Besides that we have no place to keep a third vehicle. Mama has a 1991 Isuzu
Trooper (paid off) and of course as a lot of you already know I do not drive,
have never had a driving license and have never even driven a car in my entire
life. He and Mama (I don't count as I have just lost my 40 years+ job at
Landamerica in October of 2008 and now try t eke out a meagre living by doing PC
jobs like surveys, blogs, forms filling, data entry when I can get it and stuff
like that. That income is supplemented by a small $218 stipend pension from LA,
a lousy $160 week unemployment compensation from the divine Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania and I have approximately $40 thousand in an IRA which I recently
had to dip into to avoid a mtge foreclosure from Citiresidential Lending. I will
probably be forced to move some of that remaining 'nest egg' swag into a money
market account so I can draw out sums to exist upon for awhile. I get no help
from my senators, congressmen, etc. but that is another tale my tomos er
friends. Hopefully Tuesday next will bring new revelations since a new broom
sweeps clean and the WH is awfully filthy these days eh?) are pre-approved for a
loan on the 'new' car but not for the auto refi to pay off the Jeep for a
tradein. So after hours, days, weeks of fruitless searching on the web I turn
to you- my internet family of friends and yes I am proud to say that although I
have neve laid aizu (eyes) on many of you ever (OK some of ya have posted photos
but er you know what I mean) I still feel almost as if not more so than even my
own scattered family of aunts, uncles and cousins. My grandparents have all gone
now as has my father andf many aunts, uncles and cousins. My brother, my Mama
and myself live here together in the same small townhouse in Brookhaven (a Media
suburb which is a Philadelphia suburb itself) PA- USA and our closest relative
is my youngest brother who now owns his own garage in Folsom PA and lives about
ten miles from us. So you can readily see why with my real family scattered all
the Hell over creation and beyond I 'do' think of you fine folks as my extended
family and I call you my tomos watashi or my very good friends even if you are
perhaps scattered even futher away then my own family. OK enough sentimentality
crap dammit. Do any of you know of 1- Any banks, loan service companies or
financial institutions who can and would be willing to loan us the necessary $27
thousand plus perhaps a bumper cash out of an additional $5 thousand at a
decent rate of interest and affordable payments? 2- Any Hyundai dealerships
(honest ones- Carousel and Colonial in Chester County PA and Conicelli in
Springfield PA claim they cannot help us but Hell they help out other folks)
in the PA, NJ, DELAWARE area we can perhaps try? I can find very few on the web.
3- Anyone who is in the market for a 2007 Jeep Liberty in A-1 mint condition
with lessthan 5 thousand miles on its clock (odometer) who would either pay it
off in full or give us a substantial downpayment and agree to tke over the
payments? We also own a Dodge Coachman RV we are still paying off and we would
be willing to make anyone who agrees to the Jeep offer's terms the same deal
of either full payoff or substntial dp and take over the remainingpayments? 4-
Any jobs available using my home PC that do not involve selling, phoning,
faxing, requiring any 'upfront' money for so called fees, instructions, lessons,
etc., starting a home- based business (I don't have the necessary capital for
one thing!), asking me to pay anything or to use a valid credit card (which I do
not have) or any get rich quick even if it's against the law schemes. I just
would like a simple job where I 'do the work' and the company or person 'pays
me' either by salary, piecework, incentives or a combination of the three of
them. I can write/type copy, upload/download, am comfy with document writers,
have three printers one of which is multi-functional, write for money (Hell
anyone who wants proof of my creative writing skills can just log onto:

Well you guys get the pix- right?), can do data research, data entry work, fill
out forms, etc. I already do surveys, game, blog, surf the web for money, have
an account at AdSense, etc. I'd be able to make even more than the lousy
zilch I have made so far (most sites will pay you only when you accumulate $100,
some reward you with points or game dollars which are redeemed for 'prizes'
which usually involve buying or 'trying' something else on your credit cards and
many simply allow you to enter 'contests' but nobody I know ever wins!) if I
had a valid credit card or the money to start my own online biz or hey let me
tell you about this one or was it two programs I 'did' shell out for- I paid
$50 and I think it was $40 for- get this- a list of companies who might or might
not hire me and most of 'them' wanted even more money to 'allow' me to work for
them! Like a bloody online union! Ka-Mi (God) I cannot tell you how much I hate
unions! I have never ever been in one thank Kami but I have heard the horror
stories from some of the poor bastards who have! Unions are one of the main
reasons (I feel) that so many companies are going down the frigging drain!
Circuit City just gave up the ghost, Bank of America just got grabbed by
Merrill Lynch and those SOBs I worked for as a real estate title insurance
examiner/investigator/locator/troubleshooter (LA simply 'terminated the job
description' on 3 Oct 2008 and with three whole hours of advance notice my 40+
years in the TI biz was over! You can imagine the kind of Kurisumasu er
Christmas and New Year's that I had (someone 'accidentally' set our front lawn
ablaze on NY Eve just as the ball dropped for 2009) after that little bombshell
hit home!) are now getting their just desserts and oh revenge 'how sweet it
is man'. Not only were they forced to declare bankruptcy they have been taken
over by Fidelity to boot! Anyway that is all I have to say to you now except
that soon this country will begin its turnaround and perhaps get back to som
sense of order eh? Uncle Bari and Uncle Joey-where are you? HELP!!! I for one
need a god dame job and I am wallowing in debt dammit all! How come some people
have all the luck and others get the shitty end of the pole? Domo arigatou to
all of you and that means a big thank you very much for all that you guys have
done in the past and I hope will continue to do in the future. You folks are my
'Rock of Gilbraltar' and honestly I dunno how I could have posibly gotten
through these last three months without your loyalty, understanding and
steadfast support! Sayonara for now and see ya all soon. Ja mata (see ya later)
and may Kami bless you all. Let's all keep our sticks on th ice. Again thanks
and TTFN. Toodles tomos all-K&K PS- Most of you already know this information
but for the rest of you here 'tis. My name is John K (Jack) McElwee III and I
reside in Brookhaven PA 1905-1903- USA. As I just put the phone on the
national 'do not call' list to stop the harrassing and hang up calls and since I
do not own in fact loathe cellphones I cannot and will not give out my
telephone number. Sorry folks. My email is keimanzero@... If you
prefer just blog me or email one of my web/blog sites above. The only site that
is not mine is YG's animeontv. The rest I either own, manage, administrate or
have joined. Again you hve the Keiman's thanks and blessings.
