Our goal is to promote the use of desert appropriate plants in an attractive, environmentally sustainable landscape in the Palm Springs area. Formed in the summer of 2005, we are a group of local professionals and residents from a variety of backgrounds, united in our interest to encourage and promote what many call 'desert landscaping' in the Coachella Valley. The group includes home gardeners, members of the landscape industry, volunteers and staff of The Living Desert, participants and graduates of Living Desert University's Master Desert Gardener program, faculty and staff from local colleges and universities, governmental agencies and water districts.

Regular membership meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the months of January, April, July and October, starting at 6 pm, in the Lower McManus meeting room at The Living Desert. After parking, look for signs at the employee gate (to the left of the main entrance to the park) leading you to the meeting room.

Additional membership events are scheduled throughout the year, including tours of public and private gardens. We also hold two annual events that are open to the general public: April's event is the desert garden tour, consisting of self-guided tours of several gardens in the Coachella Valley; October's event is the desert garden community day held at the Palm Desert Visitor Center, with speakers, demonstrations and exhibitions related to desert gardening.
