Worth Book club:

I made the following changes.
I substituted about 1/4 cup of diced tomatoes with a small can of rotel tomatoes
for added flavor.
After removing the bay leaves but before adding the chicken I used an immersion
blender to blend the ingredients to make it a thick sauce rather than a chunky
sauce.

Hey ladies. I've "adopted" a soldier again. Well this time it is actually a sailor. Anyways he is career military and has 30 men and 10 women under his command. They are on an 8 month deployment and should return around the end of March. I'm sending 2 boxes of goodies tomorrow in time for Christmas, but wanted to put out a request to anyone attending the Holiday Tea this weekend.

If anyone has any Tom Clancy or Dungeon & Dragons (or the like) paperbacks, I'm told they would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has movies or TV shows on DVD that they want to donate, that would also be appreciated. I'll be sending another care package at New Years.

I used to send these care packages and correspond with quite a few soldiers a few years ago. If anyone else is interested, the organization I re-signed up with is www.soldiersangels.org

Hi all, your resident DFWtea wrapping elf here...

Just wanted to let everyone planning to attend the Holiday Tea know we will be having our BIG book sale again this year. We do this to raise money for our group’s Dallas RWA hosted events and covering the costs of visiting author’s meals when they visit.

These are all new books!

We have wrapped grab bundles of 4 paperbacks by genre, also bundles of 3 trade size of erotica(laundry) titles, and ribbon wrapped only bundles of series sets. Everything is $5. So bring cash... lots of cash... and small bills if you can... We can take checks but occasionally forget to deposit them in a timely manner L.

I know everyone will have a great time even though I won’t be there...sniff. Darn old friends who get married in December anyway!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I wasn't online at all yesterday, hence being a day late with this. I went to a friend's apartment and she and I planned a big party/feast for our singles group. We had about 17-20 people show up and we had SOOOOO much food! One turkey never even got cut until after all the eating was done so we could give some to everyone to take home. My fridge is stuffed with leftovers. it was a pot luck dinner, but between my friend Lezlie and I, we provided probably half the dinner. I didn't get home till almost midnight last night then it took me close to an hour to rearrange the fridge to fit everything in it. LOL

Today Lezlie and I were going to go running but she's not feeling well so was going to the minute clinic to get checked out. But we're going to McKinney this afternoon/evening for their annual Dickens Christmas. I was there a few years ago and it's GORGEOUS. So we're going to head over there instead. She's going to come to my place tomorrow and we're going to go running, if she's up to it, in a park if she's up to it. Otherwise we'll go power walk instead.

And as per usual, this weekend is when I start Christmas decorating so I can enjoy it before I go home to PA. So I have the Christmas music playing and I'm getting a little cleaning done and starting to decorate.
