This Yahoo! Group has been created to enable members of the Derbyshire Dales Group of the Ramblers' Association [and friends] to keep in touch with each other using the internet.

All members of this Yahoo! Group are invited to submit photographs and walk reports and should feel free to comment on any matter raised.

There are four databases available to members. The first one lists 113 embossed metal signposts that we know of in the Derbyshire Dales. [There are photographs of 70 of them in the 'Metal signposts' album.]

The second database lists the footpaths we walked in May 2006 on behalf of the County Council as part of the Audit Commission survey. This helped to indicate how Derbyshire County Council fared when it came to keeping footpaths free of obstructions etc.

The third database lists new access links that have been created by the Peak District National Park Authority [and English Nature] - at present there are only five but we will add more as and when we know of them.

Finally, the fourth database lists a number of [what we believe to be] outstanding footpath diversions.
