Incidents During the Past 24 Hours
Multinational Brigade North
Houses Searched
Early yesterday morning, a KFOR Multinational Brigade North task force
set up a cordon south of Vushtrri / Vucitrn. Two houses and all the
vehicles leaving the area were searched. No illegal items were found
during the search.
People Threatened
Yesterday at noon, a bus coming from Montenegro stopped on the northern
side of the west bridge in Mitrovice / Mitrovica and a Kosovar Albanian
couple got off. A group of about 50 Kosovo-Serbs gathered around them.
KFOR French soldiers intervened immediately and escorted the threatened
couple safely to the southern side of the bridge. During this incident,
the woman had her handbag stolen. UNMIK police is investigating.
Multinational Brigade Centre
House Searched; Weapon Found
Yesterday morning, KFOR Multinational Brigade Centre British soldiers
searched a house in Shtutice / Stutica. Among the illegal items found
and confiscated were two pistols, one machine gun, 200 rounds of
ammunition, one 30mm shell, three grenades, seven ammunition magazines
and NBC decontamination equipment. KFOR Explosive Ordnance Disposal
experts safely removed the rounds, the grenades and the shell from the
house.
Grenade Thrown
Yesterday at noon in Krusheve / Krusevac, an unknown assailant threw a
grenade at a shop owned by a Kosovar Albanian man. The firing arm of the
M75 grenade was found at the scene and a car was also found with some
fragmentation damage. UNMIK Police is investigating.
Multinational Brigade West
Unexploded Ordnance Found
Yesterday morning, children reported to KFOR Task Force Pegasus in Kline
/ Klina that they had found an unknown device in a wrecked house. A
patrol and KFOR Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts were sent to the
scene. They found and safely removed one F1 model grenade and one NBC
mask.
House Search; Ordnance Found
Yesterday afternoon, KFOR Multinational Brigade Task Force Falcon
soldiers searched a house in Prusit. They found and confiscated one 60mm
mortar, 24 mortar grenades, one rocket propelled grenade, 24 fuses and
24 explosive charges.

Yesterday afternoon, KFOR Multinational Brigade Task Force Falcon
soldiers searched a house in Brovine / Brovina. They found and
confiscated one rifle and three rounds. One man was detained in
connection with the search and handed over to UNMIK Police.
Man Searched; Weapon found
Yesterday evening, a KFOR Military Police patrol at the checkpoint in
Dubove / Dubovo stopped and searched a car. The driver was carrying a
7.62 caliber pistol, two ammunition magazines and 20 rounds of
ammunition. The man and the weapon were handed over to UNMIK Police.
Multinational Brigade South
Traffic Accident
Yesterday at noon a KFOR German Armored Personnel Carrier was involved
in a traffic accident with a civilian vehicle in Prizren. No injuries
were reported. The accident is under investigation.
Multinational Brigade East
Man Detained
Yesterday evening, soldiers from KFOR Task Force 1-35 Armored detained a
man in Cernice / Cernica. The man was carrying a model 57 pistol. The
soldiers confiscated the weapon and the man was transported to Camp
Bondsteel where he is being held pending an investigation.
Explosion Investigated
Last night, a house explosion occurred in Cernice / Cernica. There were
no reports of injuries in connection with the blast. KFOR Brigade
soldiers and Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts were sent to the scene.
In the house they found the remnants of a 65-mm rocket propelled
grenade. The incident is under investigation.

Party for Children
On Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at 11:00 a.m., KFOR will conduct a party for
150 children age 6 to 10 at the Baskimic Elementary School in Gllogovc /
