Medical Evacuation
Early this morning, KFOR military medical experts transported Fetah
Rudi, a local politician, from the Prishtina / Pristina airport to
Naples, Italy. Mr. Rudi, a member of the Malisheve / Malisevo Municipal
Assembly, was injured in a shooting incident on Dec. 15. While in Italy,
Mr. Rudi will receive further treatment at Cantarelli Hosptial for
injuries received during the shooting incident.

Incidents During the Past 24 Hours
Multinational Brigade North
House Searched
Early yesterday morning, a KFOR Multinational Specialized Unit patrol
searched a house in Stanovc / Stanovce. No illegal items were found
during the search.
Multinational Brigade Centre
Explosion Injures One
At about 8:45 p.m. last night, an unknown assailant threw an explosive
device at a Kosovo Serb bar in Lipjan / Lipljan. The device exploded
outside the bar, injuring a Kosovo Serb man and causing minor damage to
the building. The injured man was transported to the Russian field
hospital for treatment of his injuries. In response to the blast, KFOR
Finnish Battalion soldiers increased patrols in the area. KFOR Explosive
Ordnance Disposal experts and UNMIK Police are investigating.
Multinational Brigade West
House Searched; Weapons Found
Late Tuesday afternoon, a KFOR Task Force Falco patrol searched three
houses near the Prusit border crossing point. Among the illegal items
found and confiscated during the search were an AK-47 assault rifle, 14
AK-47 ammunition magazines, and 231 rounds of ammunition. Three Kosovar
Albanian men were detained in connection with the search operation.
Houses Searched
Late Tuesday night, in response to reports of shots fired, a KFOR Task
Force Tizona patrol searched five houses in the village of Zallq / Zac.
No illegal weapons were found during the search.
House Searched; Weapons Found
Late yesterday afternoon, KFOR Italian Military Police searched a
Kosovar Albanian man's house in Peja / Pec. Among the illegal items
found and confiscated during the search were an M80 rocket launcher, a
64-mm rocket, a Zastava pistol, an ammunition magazine and a small
amount of ammunition. The soldiers detained the owner of the house and
later handed him over to UNMIK Police.
Multinational Brigade South
Explosion Destroys Store
Late last night, an explosion of unknown origin destroyed a store in the
village of Ljubizda. There were no reports of injuries connected to the
blast. Initial reports indicate that the explosion may have been caused
by a homemade explosive device. The blast is under investigation by KFOR
German Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts and UNMIK Police.
Multinational Brigade East
Traffic Accident
Early yesterday morning in Gjilan / Gnjilane, a KFOR vehicle was
involved in a traffic accident with a civilian car. There were no
reports of injuries to the occupants of either vehicle. The accident is
under investigation.
Man Detained
Last night, KFOR Task Force 2-6 Infantry soldiers stopped a man at KFOR
checkpoint 75, southwest of Donje Korminjane. The man had been
attempting to enter Kosovo with a falsified identification document. The
soldiers detained the man and transported him to the Camp Bondsteel
detention facility.
