Serbian security forces take over Sveti Ilija peak

Bujanovac, December 24 (Tanjug) - Serbian Justice Co-Minister
Dragan Subasic has confirmed to the press this evening that the
Serbian security forces had successfully carried out an
anti-terrorist action and taken full control of the strategically very
important Sveti Ilija [St. Elijah] peak, 6 km from Vranje.

"The Serbian security forces suffered no casualties in this action", Subasic
said.

Tanjug has learned from the Serbian security forces that ethnic Albanian
terrorists who used to hold those strategic positions on the edge of the
buffer zone even had howitzers, and the action was carried out "using high
technology".

With this anti-terrorist action by the Serbian police danger of threatening
the civilian population in the Vranje area has been removed.
