KFOR cannot settle ethnic Albania guerrilla problem: Kostunica

BELGRADE, Dec 19 (AFP) -

NATO-led peacekeepers in Kosovo cannot solve the problem of ethnic Albanian
guerrillas fighting
police on the province's boundary in southern Serbia, Yugoslav President
Vojislav Kostunica said
Tuesday.

The reformist president said that "ways of solving the problem must be sought
from other directions".

"The international forces of KFOR in Kosovo have, despite their numbers, shown
their
powerlessness," Kostunica told journalists.

A joint US-Russian patrol from the Kosovo peacekeeping force KFOR clashed with
the ethnic
Albanian guerrillas for the first time over the weekend, KFOR officials said.
