Weapons Found
Yesterday morning, Multinational Brigade East reported that a mortar round had
been fired from a small-wheeled mortar system from a position within the Kosovo
Boundary into the Ground Safety Zone. As a result of this incident, the KFOR
503rd Military Police Battalion and the KFOR 13th Russian Tactical Group
conducted a joint operation to search four abandoned structures near the Ground
Safety Zone. During the search the soldiers found one 62mm mortar tube, 16
mortar rounds, one RPG launcher, five RPG rounds, six handgrenades, one 7.62
mm machine-gun, 2,232 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition and 25 rounds of small
arms ammunition. The weapons and ammunition were removed. Four of the mortar
rounds were deemed to be unstable and were destroyed at the site of the find by
KFOR Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts.
KFOR will not tolerate insurgent activity based in Kosovo and will prevent any
action that would make Kosovo a staging area for exporting violence.

Shots Reported
KFOR Multinational Brigade North soldiers reported shots being fired in the
vicinity
of the Coubertin stadium in Mitrovica early yesterday morning. A search was
conducted in the area. Nothing was reported discovered during the search.
Multinational Brigade Centre
Unexploded Ordnance Found
Yesterday morning, a Cluster Bomblet was found southeast of Prishtina /
Pristina.
KFOR Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts were sent to the location and
destroyed the device at the site of the find.
Weapons Found
Yesterday afternoon, a KFOR Multinational Brigade Centre patrol found two RPG
launchers and seven RPG rockets near the village of Godishnjak / Godisnjak.

Multinational Brigade West
Unexploded Ordnance Found
Yesterday afternoon, a local farmer told a KFOR Multinational Brigade West
patrol
about an unexploded ordnance device that he had found southeast of Peja / Pec.
KFOR Task Force Aquila Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts were sent to
investigate. The device, determined to be an RPG anti-tank rocket, was destroyed
at the site of the find.
Multinational Brigade South
House Searched; Weapons Found
Yesterday morning, KFOR Task Force Zur soldiers and UNMIK Police conducted
a search operation in a village south of Rogove / Rogovo. Among the illegal
items
found during the search were one Rifle, 300 grams of TNT and 58 rounds of
ammunition.
Multinational Brigade East
Weapons Found
Yesterday morning, while investigating a report of shots fired, a KFOR 501
(Greek)
Mechanized patrol searched a house in the village of Varos Selo EM141 880.
During the search, the soldiers found and confiscated a shotgun and a
semi-automatic weapon. Because the owner of the house voluntarily surrendered
an illegal rifle to the soldiers he was not detained. Acting on information
received a
second house was searched. During the search, the soldiers found two automatic
rifles, one bayonet, four ammunition magazines and over 400 rounds of
ammunition. The weapons and ammunition were confiscated. The owner of the
house was not at home at the time of the search. UNMIK Police is investigating.
Media Opportunity
Opening of the Prizren Bypass
On Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, Multinational Brigade South Commander, Brigadier
Gen. Fritz von Korff will open the new Prizren By-pass. The By-pass north of
Prizren will connect the roads leading from Prizren to Suva Reka / Suhareke and
Prizren to Landovica / Landovice.
The road was built by KFOR at cost of 7.1 million deutschmarks, and it will be
maintained by KFOR in the future. A Kosovar firm carried out the construction of
the By-pass.
