Albright Condemns Kosovo Violence
WASHINGTON (AP) - Secretary of State Madeleine Albright condemned the bombing of
a
building used by the Yugoslav representative in Kosovo and attacks by Albanian
insurgents against
Serbian police in southern Serbia.
At a Wednesday news conference, Albright demanded an end to the violence, which
she said
constitutes a threat to the stability of Kosovo, a Serbian province, and the
Balkan region.
``Continued violence erodes the moral support Kosovo has traditionally held in
the international
community,'' Albright said.
The bombing in Pristina rocked a building used by Stanimir Vukicevic, the
Yugoslav representative
in Kosovo. A staff member was killed and at least four other people were
injured, Albright said.
Vukicevic reportedly was uninjured, she said.
