KFOR News Update
Pristina, 22 November 2000
by Flight Lieutenant Mark A Whitty, KFOR Spokesman
Explosion in Prishtina / Pristina
Early this morning, an explosion occurred at the residence of the Serbian
Ambassador for the Committee of the Federal Government of the Federal Republic
of Yugoslavia for Cooperation with the United Nations Mission in Kosovo. Seven
people were in the house at the time of the explosion, three of them sustained
injuries. The injured were evacuated to the KFOR British Military Hospital in
Prishtina / Pristina. There one of the injured died as a result of injuries

KFOR Refutes Allegations about VJ Activities in the
Presovo Valley
Recently, a newspaper printed a UCPMB claim that their forces repelled an
advance by Serbian forces into an area in the Ground Safety Zone, near the
village
of Dobrosin. KFOR soldiers monitor the boundary very closely, 24 hours a day,
seven days a week in order to prevent incidents spilling over into and
originating
from Kosovo. No observation of any such activity has been made. Such false
information only exacerbates the tension in this area, and throughout Kosovo.
Insurgent activity based in Kosovo will not be tolerated by KFOR. KFOR will
prevent any action that will make Kosovo a staging area for exporting violence.
KFOR is fully capable of maintaining boundary security and will continue to do
so.
