Nothing Significant to Report.
Multinational Brigade Centre
KFOR Assists UNMIK Police in Investigation
Yesterday KFOR Multinational Brigade Centre soldiers assisted UNMIK Police in
the follow-up investigation of a fatal argument in the village of Peran /
Perane.
During the augment between two Kosovo Albanian men, one of the men shot and
injured the other with a pistol. In response, the injured man shot and killed
the first
man with an AK-47 assault rifle. The injured man fled the scene but was later
arrested at the Podujeve / Podujevo hospital. Soldiers from KFOR 1st Battalion
The Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment recovered both weapons used in this
incident. Additionally, in connection to this incident the soldiers conducted a
house search in Podujeve / Podujevo. During the search the soldiers found 60
rounds of ammunition and an ammunition magazine.
Multinational Brigade West
KFOR EOD Supports UNMIK Police
Yesterday afternoon, an UNMIK Police patrol requested KFOR Task Force Sauro
assistance in investigating a report of an explosive in a house in Decane /
Decani.
KFOR Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts went to the house with UNMIK
Police. After careful examination, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal troops
determined that the explosive device was a grenade. The Explosive Ordnance
Disposal soldiers safely removed the grenade from the house.
Multinational Brigade South
Road Traffic Accident
Late yesterday morning, a KFOR German truck was involved in a collision with a
civilian vehicle west of Prizren. The driver of the civilian car was injured in
the
collision, and was transported to the civilian hospital in Prizren for
treatment. The
accident is under investigation by UNMIK Police and KFOR German Military
Police.
House Searched; Weapon Found
Late yesterday evening, KFOR Multinational Brigade West Soldiers conducted a
house search in Prizren. During the search, he soldiers found a Pistol and six
rounds of small arms ammunition. UNMIK Police arrested one man in connection
with the incident.
Multinational Brigade East
House Searched; Weapon Voluntarily Turned-In
Yesterday morning, KFOR 501st Mechanized (Greek) soldiers conducted a
cordon and search operation in the village of Ukzmail. Prior to the search
beginning, a local resident voluntarily surrendered an illegal rifle to the
soldiers.
Because of the voluntary nature of his action, the resident was not detained. No
additional weapons were found during the search operation.
Rifle, Ammunition Found
Early yesterday afternoon, a KFOR 2-327th Battalion patrol found a rifle in a
field
near the village of Vrboc / Vrbovac. Nearby, the soldiers also found 135 rounds
of
small arms ammunition. The soldiers confiscated the illegal items.
