"OTPOR" (Resistance) to Montenegrin regime
On 29 October 2000, a new association "Otpor" is founded in ancient
Montenegrin capital Cetinje, with aim to continue with democratic changes
already happened in Serbia.
Present regime of Montenegro is authoritarian as Milosevic's former regime
in Serbia. In previous two years Montenegrin democracy was just a surrogate.
Official regime presents and uses human rights only through its
ideological-party prism. We are against intention of Montenegrin regime to
present itself as an exclusive interpreter of Montenegrin state interests
because modern democracy does not equalize regime and state. Interest of
free citizens is the protection from tyranny of a such state and its
ideology which can be seen as a new form of earlier titoistic and atheistic
dull, emphasize founders of "Otpor", Orthodox Youth of Cetinje.
The founder also stress that Montenegrin state media insist on breaking of
our country and thus produce new and new rivalries. They want to keep
blindness of an exclusive circle where no one can be able to deny their
falsifies about people's life and past, present and future political
conviction of the citizens.
In Montenegro such stubborn isolationism to entire world is more visible
then ever. Primitivism of ruling class is especially visible in relation
toward the Church. Orthodox Christians are exposed to lawlessness and
tyranny. In unseen repression toward Orthodox Metropolitanate of Montenegro
and the Littoral participates everyone in Montenegrin regime, say members of
new-founded association "Otpor" of Cetinje.
