clothes, donated by family members of the Hanau, Germany based unit, enabled
the soldiers to give each child at the school one warm set of winter clothes,
complete with a designer-name scarf. Each child also received a bookbag sporting
mine awareness slogans. The bookbags were stocked generously with school
supplies.
Capt. Robert Gunther, Information Officer for unit, said, "I don't think there
was a
face not smiling that day, both the kids and soldiers. The children were happy
at
getting the supplies and the soldiers were happy to give them, completing the
circle begun by our great Family Support Group back at home station. Helping the
kids be warm, as well as safe and secure, our primary mission, gave all of us a
good feeling."
