Opposition proclaims Kostunica's victory

BELGRADE, Sept 26 (AFP) -

The Democratic Opposition of Serbia (DOS) has proclaimed the victory of its
presidential candidate
Vojislav Kostunica with 54.66 percent against Slobodan Milosevic, obtaining
35 percent, after 97.5
percent of vote counted, a senior aide said Tuesday.

Cedomir Jovanovic of the DOS said that Kostunica has won 2,783,870 votes
while Milosevic
obtained 1,783,073, with only 2.5 percent of votes remaining to be counted.

"I announce that the presidential elections ended with the victory of our
candidate," Jovanovic said.
