Hello all out there:

Thanks to all of those who showed up last night to discuss "Parrotfish" by Ellen Wittlinger. While there wasn't much debate to be had on the merits of the book, once the book club moved to rocket bar, the discussion and debates picked up. Very exciting. For the month of August and Septmeber we're moving the book club to a more conveneint location, Duffy's! Duffy's is an irish bar located right across the street from the 9:30 club with insanely good drinking specials. It might even spark more debate like atmosphere for those interested in that kind of thing.

And now, the moment you all've been waiting for- the listing of the next reads.

To read for the month of July, to be discussed on Monday, August 3rd 2009: "No One Belongs Here More Than You" by Miranda July. TNG reviewed it recently for their book of the week. Lambda Rising, our own neighborhood queer bookstore has a few copies available, and we'll make sure to get plenty more in for ya. Remember, if you show them your Literally Lesbians card, you'll get your book @ 20 percent off!

Reading in August to discuss Monday, September 7th, 2009: "Your Name Written on Water" by Irene Gonzalez Frei.

Reading in September to discuss Monday, October 5th, 2009: "American Wife" by Curtis Sittenfeld.

Reading in October to discuss Monday, November 2nd, 2009: "Ammonite" by Nicola Griffith.

Reading in November to discuss Monday, December 7th, 2009: "The Skin Beneath" Nairne Holtz.
