Law in Heart; Enforcement   Topic List   < Prev Topic  |  Next Topic >

Hi Keith [his comment below, for those who have not yet seen it],

Yes, part of this discussion about the ideal laws/principles that would
govern a society of Zion need to include a discussion of how these laws
would be implemented, or "enforced."

This ties back to the idea of ground-up organization. Most issues would be
addressed on the most local level possible, beginning with the individual
being responsible for him/herself, followed by the couple/family, followed
by the triple-couple covenant relationship (www.triplecouple.com), an so
forth.

The existence of 'laws' does indeed by definition imply some sort of
implementation or enforcement, lest the laws be of none effect.

It is no more wrong for a society to enforce its laws than it is for parents
to do so with their children.

Yes, the laws in Zion will be written in the heart. In other words, they
will be indelibly placed there with the loving and persuasive influence of
the Holy Ghost, which operates on principles of truth, using both the
left-brain cognitive as well as the right-brain intuitive faculties that
each person possesses.

Just because the laws will be written in our hearts does not mean that there
are not a set of laws also written in tablets of stone in the courts of
justice of civil administration.

I would propose that the reason the laws will be able to be written in the
heart as well as in stone is that they will resonate with truth sufficient
that the Holy Ghost can give its divine stamp of approval to each individual
in the society, beginning in childhood after the age of accountability (e.g.
eight years old).

Just because today's leadership of men and women so often give in to their
tendency to unrighteous dominion, does not mean that in Zion it will be so.
Why? That is a good question to ask as well. Part of it no doubt will be
because the laws are so simple that the judges cannot be all haughty about
knowing the law while the common citizen is impaired by their lack of
knowledge of the law. With the law being so simple, people will be on equal
ground, and the leadership cannot lord it over the civilian population.
Indeed all will be more like "leaders" being responsible for their own
destiny, each having the tools for full individual responsibility before God
and men.

Sterling,

I am a little perplexed by "the laws of zion" ???

history has shown me (my truth) that every time laws are written
(even with the best intensions), someone takes it upon themselves to
enforce these laws. and this is done by some fear based encrochment.

I would think (for me) that the law must be written in the heart, and
recoginzed by others because of behaviour, not by anything written.
and those that recognize the behavior will attach themselves
to "ZION" or whatever label we as people choose to name it!!!

Now (please) do not see this as the attach on the Idea of a perfect
world. with all my study of history over the last 25 years, there
seems to be a pattern of repeat when laws are written.

I must admit that I step into fear when I think of more laws to
(BIND) myself to.

remember the old saying "if these people this day dont live up to all
the promise made in this temple this day -- ect".... boy I must admit
I new then I was not going to make it <lots of grinning>.

so please explain how this new set of laws will not fall under the
repeat of history (humble request here)...

love and light
keith
