Ralph:
We are used to obeying the prophet as a king (we make him a king whether
God makes him one or not). Many LDS neglect personal revelation to restore
Zion by waiting on church leaders. What they don't seem to realize is that
LDS leaders have to work with the lowest-common-denominator to keep the
Church together. Restoring Zion or even the Constitution is somewhere above
the level of most members. So LDS leaders cannot ask the general membership
to move any faster toward Zion, which leaves the Church under condemnation.
I believe Sterling is sick and tired of people who hide behind the
prophet's skirts when the Lord has already told us to work personally with
Him as our Director, in tandom with His other servants.
On the other hand, the Lord is organized and harmonizes at once many
missions at all levels, a miracle in itself. He will raise up leaders from
among the people who are far ahead of their time. These MUST perform labors
which will be ridiculed by those who in darkness.
When the Constitutional Convention met, the leaders had already been
prepared and were ready to work. But the majority of each religion they
represented were probably willing to neglect their freedom for a shilling
from British Redcoats. I believe that's what Sterling is talking about in
his response to you (which he relayed to his mailing list).
If we have God in us, let us independently move forward in the Spirit to
develop Zion-oriented concepts. The Lord needs a cadre of Knights for his
coming Roundtable. These heros need to grow beyond the masses. They will
not offend any righteous man.
