There was a great earthquake; and the Sun became black as sackcloth of
hair, and the moon became as blood. Rev 6:12

Fulfillment occurred, in 1755, the most terrible earthquake ever
recorded.
Known as the earthquake of Lisbon, extended to Europe, Africa, and
America.
Was felt in Greenland, the West Indies, the island of Madeira, Norway,
Sweden, Great Britain, and Ireland.
Covered no less than four million square miles.
Close to Morocco, ten thousand were swallowed up.
A tidal wave swept from the coast of Spain to Africa, causing great
destruction.
At Cadiz the wave was said to be sixty feet high.
Mountains, in Portugal, were split, and summits thrown down to the
valleys.
And flames issued from these mountains.
At Lisbon, sixty thousand perished.
The sea retreated, then rolled back in, rising fifty feet above normal
level.
The quake happened on a holiday, Churches were full as every one fell in
on them.
Ninety thousand lost there that day.
