Perhaps you got this idea from the traditional Jewish celebration
of the Sabbath day on the 7th day? But Sabbath, which comes from
the Hebrew "Shabbat" does not mean 7th. It means "rest." Sunday
has become de facto the 7th day of the week. We refer to Saturday
and Sunday as "the weekend." Monday is the beginning of the
"work week." If Monday is the beginning of the work week, then it
is the first day of the week and Sunday is the 7th, the last day
of the week. This has to do with the Sun replacing Saturn, and that
is the signficance of the Day-Night-Day among the Nephites. All days were
moved one over so that the Sun of righeousness, rising from
the dead, would replace Father Time, or old man Saturn. The
ancients understood the symbolism of the planets--Sun, Moon, &
Stars, that were given for "signs & seasons." I agree that the day
of rest is to be on the 7th day. But that day is Sunday since the
coming of Messiah. Our calendars should reflect that such is the
